1-200 yd benchrest, fine line vs fine line with dot?

Hey all.

I am getting my benchrest scope replaced. I am new to this, so because the manufacturer gave me an option, which is better. Plain fine line reticle, or fine line reticle with a dot. The second is what I have now, but the straight fine line reticle with no dot sounds appealing. I have pretty decent eyesight, so that’s a non issue. Which is better for short range benchrest and why

Thanks again

It really comes down to Personel preference. I like a dot, but get what you’re comfortable with. You can’t make a wrong choice.

I prefer the Small dot, It's easy to find when the competition is hot and fast and you need to get back on target to finish a group. It is probably what you prefer and become to desire. I started with crosshairs but meandered into the dots in the scopes as my preference.

I prefer a small dot ,it really helps me on days when my eyes are not focusing so well...I have "bad eye " days at the range where I am just not sharp .

I have both but for short range score I prefer a 3/32 dot for 100 yards and meters and an 1/8 dot for 200 & 300 yards and meters.
