1-20-19 Bridgeville, DE 600 yard IBS Benchrest Match

GSS,
We use official IBS 600 yard benchrest paper targets.
As i understand it, F-class at Bridgeville uses electronic targets.
Good question since both disciplines are shot at Bridgeville.

Thanks,
I knew they use the HEX Targets at Bridgeville and they do a great job running matches. I'm just a service rifle shooter but I traveled down there in Nov 2017 to try out the HEX System in an XTC 80 rd match and a 3 x 600 as I was in the market for E targets for my club in Southern New Hampshire.

Not knowing anything about benchrest, I wondered if the Electronics would be used over paper in Benchrest.

It would be interesting to see how the paper targets compared to the HEX plots if they were ever to try placing the paper targets on the E targets to compare.

Thanks again,
George

The weatherman says it looks like it will be a shooters match for sure. Subject to change without notice lol. I think Im going to come down.

I'm planning on being there as long as the weather cooperates. Right now it's supposed to be clear for the next 15 days except for a potential winter storm coming in next Saturday night thru Sunday. Richard has been up against it all year, and it doesn't look like it will be any different this month. Hopefully the forecast will change by the weekend, which it usually does.

My trip down there was 12 hrs each way right thru NY city. Was worth the trip but I likely wouldn't do it more than once a year or so.

Thats dedication right there. 2 hours in season is my usual max travel. Winter is here, and this will be a dual purpose trip for me so it works out.

That was in Nov 2017 and our season up in Southern New Hampshire was over. I was in the market for E targets for my club to purchase and wanted to try out the ones Bridgeville uses. I did travel down there once before with a group of us of around 6 from the North one spring about 10 years ago to get a jump on the season up here.

This target / group should get a good laugh out of the benchrest / F class crowd but,,, :)
The most recent Nov 2017 trip I broke my Service Rifle Iron sight personal high of a 199-12X by shooting a 199-13X in the last stage of an 80 shot XTC match. White Oak Armament Wilson 1x7 barrel and cheap Vortex PST scope. I called the 9 at 4 o clock on shot 8 as I jumped on the trigger a touch breaking the shot. Knew it as soon as I sent it... rrr

Great group of people that run great matches at Bridgeville

The forecast has changed to be a little more favorable that what it was showing the past couple days.

Not expecting a big turnout, but Richard and crew will be there. So, let's have a shoot!

I ended up not going. Since we were supposed to get 12"+ snow, and they started by restricting commercial traffic so I took it seriously. And we got four inches, so i regret not going. How was the turn out ? How did the match go?
