I ran across this video and thought I would share this with you since we are all looking for ways to shoot as far as we can and what it takes to do so. This is a two-part video that is filmed from start to end and goes from the store counter to a complete rifle that can shoot as the title says. To make it more interesting, it is done in a 24 hour time period.

The two-segment video is on youtube X-Ring Channel and the website is X-Ring. I found it very interesting that he chose to use the cheapest rifle they had in the store to do this project.

Video ONE

Video TWO (one mile)

Given the fact that it was shot for YouTube, it's sort of useless to me as well. Far too many folks think that they can be an 'influencer' by choosing some subject and shooting some video then posting it on YouTube. It makes them feel special! Like above, I'm "yeah, so?" also.

:(

I may be wrong as I have never watched any of his previous videos or follow him, but I didn't view it as he was trying to impress people that he is someone special or a cool influencer. What I took away from it is showing it is possible to take a low budget setup and be able to shoot long distances with a minimum amount of time and shots and it wasn't about precision shooting, it was about being able to hit what you are aiming at. It still requires the shooter to have disciplined skills and knowledge beyond that of a once a year shooter/hunter that never does anything but a sight in day and goes hunting.

Hell I guarantee there are guys that have 2-3 times that amount invested in there set up and think they are big shots (pun intended) and still would not be able to get hits at one mile in under 20 rounds.

I agree. Nothing I saw in these videos said "look at me". Not only did he hit at 1 mile with a rifle and scope that cost less than $850, but he did it with off the shelf ammo too and no elaborate barrel break in process. And he hit the MOA target!

I've never watched any of his videos before but feel these two were well done with a lot of thought beforehand. My guess is that he is not just your average shooter.

There are guys here with 2X or 3X in their hunting scopes alone. Always going to be haters.

My first long range gun was a used Savage 12, 6.5 Cm. Paid $250.00 for it and it gave me 1 MOA at 600 yrds. With some tweeking loads I can get 3" groups at 600 and 1 Moa at 1000.

Goes to show you don't need a $3K gun to have fun and get some experience shooting and learning the skills.

Yep....it only took 29 shots to hit the target!! WOW!! I wonder how much time he spent before the video.

That I don't know, I'd say it wasn't the first time he'd shot one mile. If everything is on the up and up, that rifle only had 30 rounds through it when he made the 1 mile shot, three were 147's that the rifle didn't like.
