1,000 yard shooting in Texas????

I recently moved to Texas, Houston to be exact, and was wondering if there was a place within a couple hours that had a 1,000 yard range, maybe even some sanctioned events. Any info would be great. Please send me an email if you know of anything.

Thanks for the info. I am looking to shoot benchrest but could at least practice over at Bayou Rifles. I am willing to drive a couple hours to compete, heard there was something near Dallas.

I just moved here in may and was pleasatly suprised to find there is a very active 1000 yard range. Look them up at www.Bayourifles.org

We have a thousand yard match the first Sunday of every month and a 300/600 yard match on the third Sunday. We also practice every tuesday and Friday morning around 8;30am
