    Your Load Development Method ⚖️

Hey everybody, I wanted to start this thread to see everyone’s load development method(s) and what works for them. I’ve tried many methods including OCW, modified versions of OCW, the “Satterlee” method, my own version of both combined, and I’ve witnessed shooting buddies performing long range...
  2. Chronograph question

Hello everyone! I am puzzled! I bought a magnetospeed c3 chrono and did a ladder test using IMR4451. Ten 5 shot loads to a max of 41.3 in .2 increments! The load book says I should be getting 2600fps+ and the most I got out of the max load was 2250fps!
  3. Interesting discovery on load development.

Ok so I keep notes on everything I do and as I was going back over notes I noticed something. As we know with brand new barrels they speed up after the first 150-250 rounds. Say you do one of many methods of load development with a brand new barrel and find your node at a hypothetical 41...
  4. My 6.5 Grendel Load Test

All the needed info should be in the pictures. Load tested different powder charges. Did this test in 30*F weather at 100 yards. Would like one load to shoot in all temps from 0-80*F. It’s a deer and coyote hunting rifle, would like to have enough energy out to 500 yards. I thought there was...
  5. How to choose between multiple loads

This is my first post here. However I have been lurking for years and have learned a great deal from you all. Thank you. I have been reloading for just over a year, and am developing a new load: .223 60gr VMAX with Vihtavuori N140, rifle is R700 1in12. I am aiming to create the most accurate...
  6. Very interesting range day.

So, I've just come in from load development for my 16" 243win. I Got some nice groups but the thing I'm am intrigued by is the sound and the feel of the rifle when approaching max loads. There was prolonged vibrations through the stock. I could feel it like a spring doorstop. And the sound...
  7. Excel Chart for Reloading velocities ReDone

Ok I have added to this worksheet/chart that I found on some forum, might have been this one. You can compare the chronoed velocities as an average, very similar to Steve Lawrence's 10-shot load developement, (6.5 guys). I added the ability to have up to 10 shots as opposed to original 5...
