annealing

  1. An automated annealing unit from SA, why haven't we heard of it?

Why is it we have not heard from the South Africans about this annealing unit? https://www.reloadingtechnology.com/product-highlights/ Has there been any Beta testing done by our friends in SA or is this so new that it is still untested? They show a price of R33,350 which is roughly $2100...
  2. Annealeez Aluminum Wheels

Hi All. I'm considering manufacturing and selling machined aluminum wheels for the annealeez. I'm making this post to gauge interest/demand to determine if the job will be worth running. How many of you would be interested or know someone who would be interested in purchasing a set?? I'm...
  3. Lesson learned

Just got some virgin Norma brass measured the length for trimming. Varied .002-.004 however I took 10 pieces and resized with my forster national match die. All measured a perfect 2.005. I can’t believe how much factory annealing varied the overall length. jon

Advice please on case forming & annealing

I’m the proud owner of a Martini Cadet chambered in .256 Win Mag. I plan to form 200 cases to stock pile for this rifle. I’ve already formed some cases using Winchester .357 brass with good forming results. I don't have any longevity results though. I anneal, lube & then size with standard RCBS...
  5. Annealing temperature and time.

For those of you who anneal your cases. What do you guys think of this brochure on case brass. As far as I understand, we can add 10°C when we halve the time, and subtract 10°C when we double the time. If we halve the time seven times (2 min. 1min. 30sec. 15secs. 7.5secs. 3.75secs. 1.875secs...
  6. Annealing color change

I bought an Annealeez machine and am very happy with it. Easy to setup and a huge time saver. I annealed about 1400 rounds Rem 204 Ruger and 450 rounds Rem 20 Vartarg. I setup the machine to just turn the 750 deg F tempilaq clear (inside the neck). With no changes to time or flame, I noticed...
  7. When To Anneal?

I just purchased a new Annealeze annealer. This is my first foray into annealing. So this may be a stupid question, but at what point in the reloading process do anneal, before you full-length resize or after? My logic would say before, so that the neck and shoulder are soft, so you will get...
  8. ANNEALING

I hate to mention annealing ssince it starts a pissing match and 100 opinions. However the below website give good info on how hardness changes with various times and temperature. I will not comment on the data. Make what you want of the article...
  9. Lapua does not recommend re-annealing?

Hey all, Was in Lapua’s website and for the 6.5 brass, they say they do not recommended Re-annealing their off the shelf factory annealed brass. Is their a reason for this? I know most on here anneal every time If I’m not wrong. So why does lapua say this and are they correct?
  10. Any Annealeez reviews?

i am looking for a good, but low budget annealer. The annealezz I find very interesting and at a good price point for an automated annealer. Looking for any reviews/opinions if anybody has one. Thanks
  11. Neck turning and Annealing

Disclaimer Once again, I’m still new to reloading and long range shooting so forgive my ignorance. I just read an article on here that essentially said you neck turn if your brass is to tight but also so you have consistent neck tension. I was thinking about the responses I received from my...
  12. Annealing

I’ve searched the web and can’t find an answer to the following question: How much longer does brass last when you regularly anneal (after every firing or every few firings) vs never annealing. I know there are some variables at play here but just looking for a in general type answer. As far as...
  13. Annealing Last

I’ve decided to modify my reloading procedure in order to place annealing at the end of the process, after ultrasonic cleaning, and prior to reconstructing a loaded round with primer, powder, and bullet. My logic for doing this is as follows: According to information available on the AMP...
  14. Annealing machine prototype 2

I've been kicking around an idea for making a very simple annealing machine. I thought it should be very possible to only use one motor for all actions - loading a case, spinning in front of a flame and ejecting it after a set time. I did a couple of 2d MDF mockups, then built this thing...
