Question about using hash marks for hold off.

But the hash mark is not in the center of the FOV at that point. Your eye has to be to get a full FOV. Thanks for the response.

Question about using hash marks for hold off.

I have 20 MOA rails on my rifles too. I only mentioned shims because I have heard of people using them. I haven’t but thanks for the response. Dave.

Question about using hash marks for hold off.

That’s what I’m wondering. Let’s make it extreme. Suppose the aiming point is at the very edge of the optical field of view. While using that as the aiming point is it easier to induce unwanted error? If it is, I would assume any deviation from using the very center of the field of view(cross...

Question about using hash marks for hold off.

So my question has to do with scopes with hash marks or multiple aiming points. I have read where it is best to set up a scope where it is as close as possible to the center of the scopes adjustment range by using rails or shims. For example using a 20 or 30 MOA rail to set up a 1,000 yard...

    Issues with March 48 HM

Compare the two serial numbers to see which is older. I’d be curious. That scope seems a little off. Mine have had the serial numbers engraved or stamped into the aluminum not printed. Dave.

    "0" Group at 1000 yards

Sorry but this is where I wish there was a dislike button. I’m afraid young people need instant gratification these days. E targets give you that, they don’t however give the accuracy and reliability to measure five shots to the thousandth of an inch. Just call me Shotmarker Dave.

Freedom Benchrest allow 40lb metal Rear Rest?

To get away from rear rests I want to use the front rest and current rules to make a point. I go to matches and see guys using hammers to drive the steel or carbide feet into the concrete or wood bench surfaces. It’s very common practice. Why do they do it? Obviously to eliminate horizontal...

    March LR reticle question

So I’m hoping to hear from some short range shooters. I have a March 48X High Master on my LV rifle. It has the 1/16” dot. The scope has a 2.7’(32.4”) FOV at 100 yards so I should have 16.2” below the horizontal cross hair at 100 yards. The LR 1/16” dot reticle has the cross hair placed in...

    Rumor behind Federal primer packaging

I like the packaging. Without one primer able to touch another, it may not help, but it certainly can’t hurt either. In the end what matters to me is how well they perform on paper. I have never once thought “I’m not buying federal primers because they take up too much space”! Dave.
