    Not as nice as what you have, but I just extended my range to 600 yds. It is on my woodlot so not open like you have, but it is mine, so no lines, no other people, always open and uncrowded. It is in Maine, so winter shooting is a challenge, but I'll take it.

    I use scrap pine boards. The individual boards that are worn out can be replaced without replacing the whole backer. Mine are placed between vertical rails so they don't require fasteners.
