How are the new Berger 109s working out?

I played around with the 109s in a 6BRX barrel that I have tuned 105hybrid, 106eps, and new pointed 107smks in. The initial results were very promising considering I loaded the bullet straight out of the box (no sorting). I historically sort and point my bullets for FTR, but wanted to see what...

    308 throat erosion

Have a few 308 barrels under my belt. Most are very close to Greg's (Ned) observation of ca. 0.001/100rounds. In one manufacturer I use I see twice that 0.002/100. Seems to be metal dependent as well as all of the other things mentioned. If it shoots, who cares, has been my motto.

    Eliseo F Open Chassis

You can also convert the Eliseo Long Range version to an Open configuration (or FTR). I shoot Eliseo Stocks in TR, but they can be easily adapted to FClass with a barrel change and a Bag rider instead of a pic rail. Another Eliseo option vs. his dedicated F1 stock. Here is one option for a...

Looking for a machinist to do a small job

I agree, but my only concern would be a baffle strike for poor alignment vs a total breakdown of accuracy. Not looking for 1/4 moa groups (although the barrels are capable of that) rather silent 1 moa groups for laughs. Agree that maximum accuracy demands thoughtful and we'll executed machining.

Looking for a machinist to do a small job

Thanks for the offer and I completely understand the need to have the parts for just the right fit. However, the cost to ship 2-4 barrels each way plus a suppressor I don't have possession of yet (and probably cannot legally ship to you) on top of the cost of machining parts wilI make my "for...

    Toughest Range To Shoot

I've shot enough places in the US and Canada to know that there are not too many "easy" 1000 yd ranges, and each range seems to have its own devilish character and challenge to overcome. It's why I love shooting new places and it helps me to get better. I know that Trentham is very nasty by...

Yep, exactly like that is what I was thinking.

Looking for a machinist to do a small job

Have a few barrels set up for a Bukys/Wollum tuner 7/8 x 32 that I want to try a supressor on (5/8x24). The barrels are threaded 1 to 1.5 inches. Anyone willing to make a thread changer for me that can handle the task? Asked my GS and he took a pass so now looking around. Shouldn't be tough...

Where to start/ no consistency on target

Here's where I would start. Without supressor and perhaps at 50 yds from a very stable rest/position shoot a group of 5. If it groups, adjust scope to center group. If it grouped and then doesn't group or doesn't center it seems to be your scope. Either way you know something. If it groups...

Need advanced advice/help: AR Pistol reloading issue

It wasn't the first thing I had checked, but before posting, I had read that putting it backwards is a common mistake, but it was installed properly (at least after I put in anti-walk pins) and moved on to other things mentioned in the OP. Looks like a bum spring ended up in my parts kit...

Need advanced advice/help: AR Pistol reloading issue

When I looked at it initially, I was expecting that, yes, I had it backwards, but sadly, it was installed correctly. Not the first thing I though of, but it did come up as a likely problem and I had confirmed it was installed correctly well before trying the zillions of other things I...

Yes #41s primarily, but a few 450s were in the mix.

Need advanced advice/help: AR Pistol reloading issue

Thanks for all of the input. I solved the issue. I could close the BCG on a empty sized case (with the upper separated) with just moderate thumb pressure. When @Nedd Ludd suggested decomposing factory brass a remaking it with all of my components, 1 of the 3 did not fire. That was a surprise...

Need advanced advice/help: AR Pistol reloading issue

Some good responses thank you. Greg: I'll decompose and recompose a round or two per your suggestion. I've been so sure that it's the brass since the rounds fire in my original AR didn't think about this option. A good one. Fredrick:. Without casting the chamber I've been left with measuring...

Need advanced advice/help: AR Pistol reloading issue

If the FC had a crimp I removed it before reloading for my other AR but that was loaded 3-4 years ago. I only tried FC for the original reloads after the very first 5 factory shots then moved to GPL. The other 100+ have been Fiocchi (GPL) with 5-6 PPU for a different try
