    safety first for sure- i know guys have been severly injured and killed from leaving a rod in a bore. i dont wanna do that.

    just make sure you pull that rod out before you shoot. my rule is to never let anyone use it and i take it back to the car before i do anything else. ill use it to get a bullet unstuck in somebodies gun if the need it. its surprising how many have been left in guns and fired.

    in the last two stocks i did ive done the pillars out of devcon. i think it will work better. of coarse they are target stocks so i dont care if they dont look pretty and a little devcon shows

    you can ship one of them in a usps large flat rate box if you try. that would be much cheaper to- Ive had people send them to me that way.

    i have a junk bench top imported mill but it works good for wood inletting jobs and keeping everythinh strait. i would have a little trouble keeping the block in there strait with the stock. i guess i would do like you say and hold it by fastening the barrel and let it hold the block in...

    oh man i just messed a stock up i had all done. i made a couple from gluing the boards together on-- BR stocks --one for a borden that will be a 6br-one for a rem LA that will b a 300wsm. both with strait taper barrels 30 ish

    i have some remingtons that have shot really well.. plenty accurate for any varmint hunting i would do. my current 6br on one would take PDs at 700 Im sure. so i would get a remington and put my money in a premium barrel. save a thousand over wat you were thinking/- that would be alot to pay...
