  1. Anschutz 1532 .222

I had one years ago, I loaded for it but Anshutz says only to use factory ammo. It was finicky but I finally found a load that worked well and it would really shoot. I am thinking I had to shoot it single shot as the finished round was too long for the magazine. Mine was a 153, it had blond...
  2. Inflation and what to do?

You are right Scalloper! This guy really blows, Gary
  3. new 7mm this winter?

If you're in the market for a low recoil round that brass is plentiful for look at the 7 TCU. I have a 14" pistol barrel (stock) that is amazingly accurate and I've thought often that a rifle in that cal. would be an excellent Deer gun. I have Redding dies for it and personally have done a few...
  4. Vudoo 17HM2 best 100 yard groups

The .17 HMRs are a GREAT! concept. I have a hard time acknowledging it because of ammo. It is a rimfire case and I know several guys that have them and sometimes they shoot well, Sometimes they don't. I personally don't own a 17 HMR but overall I can do as well or better with my CZ .22 Hornet...
  5. Lapua X-Act

As a rule good ammo shoots well in a variety of rifles. Gary
  6. Remington 541 metal mags

Rest assured these are top of the line! To me that was always the downfall of the 541s the cheap plastic mags. (Not so cheap anymore--I've seen astronomical prices for the plastic ones on gunbroker) These are hand crafted and worth the money Gary
  7. Reloading/gun storage in a shed

Along with what you have DEHUMIDIFIER
  8. 6BR Remington v. 6BR Norma

Boyd is right on the money! I personally own a 6BR Remington and a 6BR Norma and I bought new Lapua brass for it and it would NOT chamber. Gary
  9. I've got an itch for a mini 14 223/556

Last one I dealt with would do 3 !/2 to 4" GROUPS AT 100 YRDS. On bench But my knowledge of them is that they work! But far from being a tackdriver. I don't think you can do a lot better accuracy wise than I did. Gary
  10. .250 savage model 98 mauser

I have never heard of 4898 but Butch Lambert would be the last guy on earth I would like to start an argument with! He probably meant 4895. I vote for Imr 4064. Gary
  11. Best source for Precision shooting magazine archives?

I have some of them in the '90s but am not enthralled about getting rid of them. Have you contacted dogdude? He is the only one that responded that was in your ballpark. Gary
  12. 5 222Remingtons. One Load ''ONLY''

have used IMR 4198 for years. Recently switched to H 322 for flow characteristics The went to T 32 because of availability. They all shoot really well. I have had a bunch of .222s over the years but only a standard 722 now the 222 is one of the most forgiving. Mike Walkers' favorite was IMR...
  13. PT&G Lonestar rimfire action

I"m not sure it makes a difference but mine is a Stiller. It has come to my attn that there may be some inferior actions out there. Mine is a single shot RBLP. Gary
  14. PT&G Lonestar rimfire action

Good to hear the favorable reviews from other people. I bought mine secondhand from a member here and I am well satisfied. (I know that I gave too much but it's exactly what I wanted And, in my defense, I had had a couple of whisky drinks!) Its all good
  15. Firearm Insurance with customs?

He nay chime in but you should get in touch w/ Dusty Stevens. There are several but In my opinion he has researched this better than any. Gary
  16. Is It Too Many Guns

I don't even want to debate it. I was probably in the neighborhood of 8 years old when I was first introduced to guns (22) as I had my first at my 10th birthday (and I still have it, an Ithaca single shot .22 Lever action). I was born in the mid '50s, was raised on a Dairy farm (a lot of HARD...
  17. 5.56 in a .223? I did it!!

I had a 788 that I shipped to CAL> (It was the 70's so It was OK. I even had the box it originally came in) I was in USMC. Me and my buddy shot a whole lot of 5.56 in that rifle with no ill effects. We didn't even know there was a difference at that time. Just my personal experience. Not...
  18. IMR3031 or H322 for 6br?

My immediate response would be 322 but look at the Hodgdon site. IMR 3031 just doesn't come to mind in the 6BR but I myself will look. It might be a real ticket! Gary
  19. Stored Powder that is 25-30 Years Old--Usable?

The only powder I ever had go bad on me was H380. As long as it isn't noticeably changed and looks normal it is fine.
