Looking for a 10mm

I have an Obsidian 45 suppressor that works very well on a 45, not so well on the 10mm. I could damn near shoot without hearing protection on the 45, on the 10 it still barks like a big dog. I think you need a suppressor tailored to a 10 mm to have any significant suppressing effect. Do your research before you get one for the 10mm. I may be forced to get one at some point. Let us know what you discovered should you move in that direction. As far as glock longslide threaded barrels, they are relatively cheap.

The flat shape of the 10mm bullets shapes the sound/pressure waves different than a round nose bullet. That can make it seem more harsh to the ear.

And it could also be that your 10mm ammo is supersonic so you get the boom and crack.

Oh yeah, it is way supersonic.

You didn’t like the Sig 320? ;)
I’m Leary of the whole Sig 320 trigger thing. Admittedly I don’t know much about it and I love my other Sig pistols, 365 macro comp, 226 X carry, 226 X five but I thought I’d steer clear of the 320 for now.

I’ve read some other 10mm threads over the last couple of years and that XDM elite gets mentioned a lot so I thought why not.

Still eyeing one of those 10mm levers too.

Just checking your opinion. I’m a little Leary of the 320, myself. I’ll wait and see how it sorts out.
This thread got my juices flowing and I went into my safe to dig out my Glock. After 10 minutes of pulling pistols out, I found it! Looking at all the other pistols I haven’t shot in a while, I paused to reflect. I picked up my stainless Colt Double Eagle. It used to be my favorite shooter until I got a Sig Nightmare. It was my favorite until I got a Glock 41, then I got a Glock 24 , then I got into 9mm and bought a Glock 43x, a Springfield Hellcat and then a CZ Shadow. Now, the CZ is my favorite shooter. I looked on the shelf and my Colt Gold Cup sat there, looking very lonely. I couldn’t remember the last time I took her the range.
I sat down, feeling deflated. I might have a problem.

You don’t have a problem, you just need to give yourself a gold star and keep on going. We only live once, the ATM machine doesn’t go with us. You have a nice collection, no reason to not keep enjoying the hobby you love. Just my opinion ….

Don't have a 10mm , but I do have a Glock G22 , .40 , and it gets loaded just below the 10mm threshold , and has stood up extremely well for over eight-ten years now . It's that memory thing as you get older .
If I were going to buy a 10mm , it would have to be a Glock for one very simple reason . The majority of Handgun owners buy one for a very simple reason . PERSONAL PROTECTION !
I consider Glock to be the AK-47 of Handguns . Not matter what you do to them , they never fail to go BANG , when needed . Yes ; some say they are ugly , and they're plastic , and they have a poor grip , and yadda , yadda , yadda , But when my Butt is on the line , I don't want or need some "Range Queen" in my hand . And Glocks have proven their reliability time and again . Ask the Guys at SOCOM why they carry them into gunfights !

I was in Gibson’s Hardware, last week. They had a really cute nickel plated Walther PPK in 380. I don’t have a PPK…..
A guy was at the counter looking over a monster revolver with a 14 or 16 inch barrel. I asked. He said it was a 30-30. Hmm…
I managed to walk out empty handed.

Truth!!!

I bought the Glock 40 Longslide. I found the factory loads to be very anemic, so I bought a heavier spring and a custom barrel for it. My 180 grain handloads are clocking 1350 fps. I ventured over 1400 fps but they started to get a little painful for my 68 year old hands.
The grip is big but I have big hands.

Love my 10mm's.. I also have a Glock 40 MOS longslide with a full custom fit Barsto match barrel.

I shoot my 200gr MTB Hardcast hanloads @ 1225.. 200gr Sierra HP @ 1230 and my favorite load... 140gr Lehigh Defense Extreme Penetrators @ 1600. Practically zero recoil from these light fast bullets compared to 200gr HC or 200gr JHP and stupid accurate

I also have a Dan Wesson Bruin and Dan Wesson Silverback. Both are stupid accurate and smooth.

I too hunted for a 10mm. I thought I’d hunt with it so it had to be accurate to a 100, bought (with my winnings) a Glock G40 when the just came out, and it was disappointing accuracy wise, I thought being a long slide, it wound shoot better than the service guns. Nope. About the same, 6 plus inch’s at 50 yards.
Traded it for a worked over Tangfolio and man that thing would shoot! It would do 3” with open sights (g40 had a dot) at the same distance.
The guy traded wanted it back and paid me a more than it was worth, but wanted it back.
Long story to say I bought another Tanfoglio Stock II, heavy barrel, full dust cover, pretty to look at, shoots better than it looks.
