Scope for 500-600 yards on elk?

Mark5 Leupold
Trijicon Tenmile
Nightforce NX8 or wait for the new NX6 that’s geared towards hunters.

All of those can be found for sub2k, depending on the magnification they are sub 26 ounces. Mark5s take up little real estate on your rifle, typically a bit shorter than some of the competition. Those are 3 options, there are plenty more. One note, the Mark5 illuminated reticle will break that 2k but they can be found if you shop around, at least pretty close to 2k.

Quite a few sales on optics this time of year. I’d check EuroOptic, and few of the other standard scope retailers. There’s also guys here on the forum that are dealers, often their pricing is tough to beat.

Second NX8. The eyebox is more sensitive but you are getting 4x multiplier...so concessions and all that

Want a cheap ish scope that you can literally throw on the ground and it’ll still work? Swiffer aka SWFA 3x15. Variety of turret options in the box. Turrets might still be a little tall but beggars can’t be choosers. Great simple hunting reticle that works from low to high power. I’d recommend the 3x9 as well but you can’t get them right now.

Do you ever hunt in the timber/etc and need low power- 2-3X?
Without knowing this…
Low end of budget- Vortex Razor LHT 3-15
High end of budget- nx6/nx8/atacr, March, Zeiss S3
Desired weight will help you choose also.
