New Ruger Collectables

Well, I bet it will be quite a shooter. Looks like the grip frame, and the main frame are luminum and the barrel, cylinder and ejector housing are steel? I think it looks just fine. Ya oughta go shoot a rabbit wth it.

This is the old school version of the Ruger Single Six. I got this one when I was 16, (1972) and it was well used by then. When the Pachmeyer grips started getting common, I put these on it. They're pretty ugly in their own right. I've got ham hands, so they work pretty good for me.

This old friend set me back 60 bucks, and came with the 22 mag cylinder. I never knew that it wasn't accurate with magnums until I read it in a magazine . I've killed a lot of jacks with it out at a hunnert yards, that must not have read that magazine. I got over a thousand 22 Mags, one time for a killer deal, and shot nothing but them for a couple years.

That gun lived on the floor board, dash board, or the pouch of the indian blanket seat cover that we all used to have when trucks ALL had bench seats. It's been involved in a lot of my life, and a lot of good times, and a few bad. -- and it only carries five rounds at a time. jd

Collectibles are a gimmik designed to attract suckers. Ruger pioneered new efficient manufacturing processes to build reliable functional guns. As the lazer engraving shows, they do not consider trained craftsmen to be a viable asset.

I’ve also been a sucker: In 1973 I bought 2 S&W model 19 Texas Rangers with wooden boxes and sheath knives. I lost my behind on both when I sold them. I would have been better off to shoot them.

When you see the word “Collectible” and have the desire to buy one - give your wallet to your wife and confess your desires.

I don’t mean to keep this thread going, but I’m a Western type of guy and liked the basket and floral stamping on that little.22 revolver. I will enjoy shooting it, as I don’t currently own a single shot like that.

I guess I meant, don't buy one if you think it's going to be rare and worth a fortune in the future. You know that because you put it to use.
