If he’s trying g to get away with this, carrying the rifle to the woods from the scene on the roof seems unlikely.

In the photos of the individual, he’s tall but does not appear to be able to be concealing that rifle behind him.

The rifle found doesn’t have a sling. If it were cased and over his shoulder, it would probably appear in a picture, assuming that’s a university stairwell.

When the vague video image of a figure running away on the roof was shown, is a rifle being carried? The figure seemed agile and very intent on departure.

If the rifle and inscribed ammo was message to the public, why not leave it there. It only impedes the possibility of escape to carry it.

Likely it's some oddball that knows nothing about firearms. 200yds with a 30-06 is not far even for the average person. I expect they'll get him soon, sounds like the full resources of the state are searching now.

have you seen the "hunters" try and sight in their rifles at the local range prior to hunting season? That is a good shot from 200 regardless of shooter, think of the circumstances. And if it was done with that rifle in the pic, hell of a shot.

Where’s the bipod? Did he rest the gun on the concreate? No one aims for the neck. He missed his mark. Probably jerked the trigger. Looking at the young man (piece is chit) he’s not a seasoned shooter. He’s either the scape goat or incredibly lucky he hit something. A lot of odd things will come out and I’m sure it’ll get more suspicious as time goes on. Just like the kid that nicked Mr. Trump.

The BBC reported that the "shot" was 130 metres. (142 yds) Some US "expert" was on there stating that it took skill and planning to make the shot. I call bullshit! Any fool with a sighted in rifle can shoot 150 - and effectively miss - even a Democrat wouldn't aim for his neck. Likely tried a head shot. An experienced shooter would go for centre mass - and fit the scope on that rifle correctly.

Couldn't move the scope further forward without safety interference.
Couldn't move front ring forward because of bell interference.
Wrong scope for that rifle, but the "okie lash-up" could work. Taller rings, and/or longer scope would be better. jd

Neighbor told me rifle used is Mossberg 30-06. Mossberg has a "Patriot" in 30-06.. What's the irony in that?
Edit: Other sources are saying older Mauser.. Not sure.

I largely agree, but have a question - how to effectively engage in civil discourse and coexist with those we disagree when they can’t reciprocate the same and their hatred leads them to murder?

We must condemn inhumane acts, whether the person committing them are republicans or democrats, conservatives or liberals.

We are called to love our enemies and to pray for them. And, true faith provides peace in understanding that God’s Will (not our will) will be done in God’s time (not our time).

Charlie did not deserve to be shot. I watched couple of his videos. He was controversial because he mixed aggressive youth-focused conservative activism with provocative statements, was accused of spreading misinformation, and often positioned himself at the center of divisive political and cultural battles.
