Probably not quite as fast as what a .223 will give you.

If you want to go fast, pair the 35 grain lead free ballistic tips with LT30. The bullet looks like the 40 gr. lead core version of the same bullet and has a usable .201 BC, a friend was able to get up to over 3800.

Is that a really compressed load ? I don't think I can get over 22.5 gr of vv133 in my 222

You can shorten 223AI dies and remove the expander/decapper assembly. I'd just shoot a 223 or 223AI, more velocity and better brass.

I think a 222 improved would be a lot of fun. I love the long neck on the standard 222 but you could change the design and increase the capacity of a 222 improved by shortening the neck.

If you’re looking for a speedy small 22 caliber I think the 223AI is hard to beat. Lots of dies and reamers that are easy to get but if you’re just looking to have some fun then why not? If you do proceed, keep us posted.

How do you get 23.1 gr of VV133 in a 222 Rem ? I have a long drop tube and I used a Allen wrench to tamp the powder down and can only get 21.8 in my 222 ?? That is a BIG difference . I can only get 23.5 gr of VV133 in a 223 . tell me how you do it ?

A 222 Rem and in center is a 223 1/2 and a standard 223 on the right . The 223 1/2 is a old BR round ,of the late 60's .

Have your gunsmith make your dies .

Ok I can do that . Mine is measured 3 /10 more than yours , but 3/10 isn't that much different .
