6.5 Berger 140 Hybrid Target or 6.5 Hornady ELD-M 147gr but once I get my 25 SAUM that could change and my new favs could be Hornady 134 ELD-M and or Berger 133's.

It's cartridge dependent for me. I have used allot of different bullets in allot of different cartridges.

Eldx, SSTs, the old AMax, Nosler ballistic tips, accubonds, Long range accubonds, Barnes TTSX/TTSX, PVA Cayugas, and Berger EOLs have done well for me.

I prefer high velocity rounds with copper bullets. If I can get 3400+ fps it's a Barnes or PVA.

Really the hybrids work good for hunting? I’ve never tried. Have have mixed results with matchkings so I just figured hybrids would be the same.

I dropped a 6 point buck the other day @ 150yds. He was quartering towards me at the shot. The Berger 180 Hy-Tgt (7PRC) dropped him on the spot and I never even saw him twitch. They don't check out much faster than that.

Yup # 1 choice in Our Family, ARE Berger, Elites, H-VLD's and,.. Classic Hunters ! ( Many, Proven DRT, "Kills" )
#2 choice is, the 143 grain ELD-X in, the 6.5 PRC or, Creedmoor. ( a PROVEN, Deer "Killer" ! )
180 gr. ELD-M's for, the 7 PRC @ 2,987 FPS ( For, FAR,.. Out there ! ) 175 gr. Fact. ELD-X's ( Up Close to, 300 yds ). Oop's, that's my Son's, Elk Rifle, but could also work very "Well" on,. Large Muley's

I like bonded bullets. So I use whichever bonded bullet shoots best in a particular rifle (Swift A frame or Sirocco, Woodleigh, Speer TBBCs, Hornady , or Nosler). I like the controlled expansion of the bonded with the ability to perform at all ranges and angles.
I'm a meat hunter and I don't like wasting meat if I'd happen to hit a shoulder at closer ranges.

I make it a practice to get close as opposed to strive for longer shots.

I have crop destruction permits sometimes long range is all you have.
