Jewel Trigger adjustments

Sounds like you have the sear out of adjustment. Is this Remington patten trigger ?
Yes it is. If I cock it, put it on safety, and pull on the trigger when I push it to fire it goes off. It does not act like this if I don’t touch the trigger while on safety. If I go lighter with it the trigger goes off while closing the bolt

Have you read the adjustment process. They’re pretty simple to adjust. Could possibly need take apart and cleaned also.
Yea I did I just went through it step by step. Let me ask this if I may. On jewel triggers that is set say 1lb or under and is cocked, put on safety, trigger pulled then let off then put on fire they should hold right ? I never had one and I bought this one as a near virgin couple years ago and just now installed.

a previous post stated it sounded like it needed more sear engagement I did that a couple times it didn’t matter at all I couldn’t tell a difference. Might have to shed this sucker and get a trigger for idiots

Put B spring in there. It’s heavy and has creep. Same result as A spring. Too heavy for me once I get the pull weight heavy enough to not fire once trigger is pulled on safety and put in fire position.

I can get the creep out and get the pull weight on but it still fires once in a while coming off safety after it’s been pulled. I’m not worried about me it’s others

I think it needs to be take apart and cleaned. The way the safety rotates sounds like it not go all the way to block the sear and as result it’s firing when you do what you stated. I only have one jewell with a safety but never had this occurred before

I have took the trigger off, cleaned thoroughly with zippo lighter fluid. Reinstalled it and same result. I have been playing with it and have learned if I put it on safety and pull the trigger back but push it all the way back forward then switch it to fire it will hold. What is inside the plates that returns the trigger once it’s pulled on ?

It really needs to be taking apart and cleaned. I will check to see if I have a diagram with hvr model and post for you.

It’s essentially like the trigger is still being pulled it’s not returning to where it is when cocked. I can pull it back a little while on safety but when I let off of it it stays in that position therefore when put on fire it goes off.

It feels like it’s dragging on the side plates to me

I have taken it apart carefully and took several pictures. I don’t see any grit grime or trash
I see wear on the left side of plate under the pin

Here’s diagram showing both types. Could possibly be the inside spring broke

What ever it was is out of it. I put it back together flushed with zippo fluid and installed it back on the action. The trigger floats now like it’s supposed to I guess. When on safety it’s springy I can pull on it and it returns with ease where it was. It has creep I have to get out now. It’s not a dragging type of creep it floats meaning I can have it on fire and pull on the trigger and let off it goes back.

I have went through jewels setup guide for the 10th time I just have the creep now
