So if one is looking for another powder to use in a .223 trainer for banging steel out to 700-800 yards this would be a good powder to try?

WOW good choices guys, I have most of these powders, I will ask a question, I have a new Zastava M77 in 308win and I have a bunch of Seirra 155gn Palma Match kings, the barrel is a 1/12 twist what are your thoughts? not to hijack the thread sorry!

If you mean will you be able to use those bullets? Yes
If you like the above powders, you can find a 308 Service Rifle section on the Hodgdon site with better starting points for this rig.
On the other hand, I probably don't need to tell you that is not a precision rig so you could just feed it inexpensive 150 FMJ bullets and go have fun.

I've found N140 to be very accurate with 155gr bullets.

IMR 4064 or Varget (saw no difference in my 308's both outstanding)
IMR 4895 or H 4895 but good luck trying to find the latter.

Thanks for the replies, I have not fired this M77 PAP yet, I know it's not a precision rifle, but I want to get all the accuracy out of it that I can, I thought that with 1&12 twist that maybe the longer barring surface of the 155gn PALMAS might work better? I have several test loads ready with a few different powders like SWMR, A2495, A2460, A2520, I want to load up some VARGET next, I have heard that folks are getting good results with VARGET, I'm also running 147gn FMJ, and the 155gn SPMK's in these loads,
