Price of Powder & Primers in Perspective

I don't do conspiracy theories. I rely on empirical evidence. Many people have a bone to pick with the IMF and with the Federal Reserve. Some of those people think the Rothchilds run the world. They are usually those who have the least understanding of monetary or fiscal policy and little understanding of capital flows a macro economic sense. They would probably consider themselves victims in this modern victim culture.
From your lofty perch of understanding , perhaps you agreed with those calling the buzz about a possible Trump Assasination a “Conspiracy Theory”, up until it became an empirical Fact. Your above story is an interesting conflation, that attempts to label “deplorables” without the nerve to come right out with it. It follows that there are people who ignore the truth of certain matters when their paycheck depends on it. Some are economists.

Say what? Kamala, is that you with this word salad?

Oh he’s there:
Mariel boat lift (ever see I-95 in Miami?)
444 day hostage situation
Gave away Panama Canal
Failed to repay Annapolis education with four years active service
Insane mortgage rates
Destroyed American moral
Solid presidential yacht
Claims to be a nuclear theorist ( no such thing)
I could go on but your stating Wilson is really a hard one to beat What we have today in the Middle East is Wilson’s doing.
But James Carter unconditionally pardoned 200,000 American draft dodgers.
He stopped my education veterans benefits .
I’d like to continue but sometimes truthful posts …well….
"Claims to be a nuclear theorist ( no such thing)"

Carter was a USN officer, nuclear qualified. An embarrassment to the Navy, let alone nuclear power.

Yes indeed. He received a free education at Annapolis, and as everyone else who graduated he received BSc degree
Instead of 4 years active duty at the time to pay back for the education, he served 18 months.
Yes a huge embarrassment

I received notice earlier this week that my Gun Club is closing. 12/31/2024 Bummer. I reckon I can save some money now.
That sucks. 2 years ago the fees at mine were a little over $100 a year. They got raised to a little over 180. August 1 they go to 250. We are going to loose a lot of members.

Every time I see this thread I remember in the 2004-time frame when I could buy Wolf Primers for $21.00 per thousand. Earlier, I recall the first 8 lb. bottle of Varget that I bought in Alaska in the mid 90's where I paid $135 and caught a sale on F205M primers for $15 per thousand. Inflation aside, there were more manufacturers then and companies were actually competing on prices....

I had heart bypass surgery in 2020. About $1800 for the surgeon. $240,00 total bill from the Hospital. If you subtract maybe $3000 for medicine and lab test that's an expensive hotel room.
Mine was over 325,000.00 total billed,,,what insurance actually paid is another number…

Our gun club fees were raised from $75 per year to $150 this year. We'll probably lose some people because that's a doubling of the fee.
However, the fee was $75 when I joined in 1997 or 1998 and haven't increased in all that time. I can't say I like it, but it's still only slightly over $10 a month for a convenient, well run and nice range that offers a lot of shooting options.

Yeah, that is their argument. When it gets upped to 250 it will be roughly 2.5 times the price 3 years ago. We are not hurting for money as a club and my view is that it is simply bad form to increase prices that much while in the middle of an inflationary period (or hopefully the end of the period in November). There is a term called Price Elasticity of Demand. It is essentially a curve that identifies at what price points a good or service starts to loose appeal. For example, would you pay 10 bucks for a burger? Probably. We pay more at some places currently. Would you pay 30 bucks? Probably not. With many people being squeezed these days and range membership being a discretionary item in most household budgets, I'm thinking that we will be in trouble financially when this price increase goes into effect.
