Kiski Twp. 2024 VBR Schedule

Brian.....Looks good buddy !! With a smaller venue, less pressure
on the shooter. I love Ridgway's VBR, but the musical chair scenario
between relays got old.....Now I have to do a little needling !!! I see
that 17lb, rifle rule again but 22lb. allowed if belly shooting. Any
reason us heavier gun guys could not shoot from a bench in the
future ??

Fuj , no reason it couldn't be, will just need addressed at a meeting and go from there...Honestly we want you to come shoot and have fun, the equipment rules where based off Ridgway's for anyone shooting at both.

17 lb 1000 Yd light gun class.....22 lbs F class. Makes sense to me.

Not since they have an overall winner IMHO. the tactical shooters have a large advantage at this match. 5 extra lbs, and they don't have a wind ramp built in front of them either.

I’m very interested in shooting this match. The rules on rifle weight are confusing. As a shooter with F-Class rifles, the 22 pound class is the F-Open rifle which is normally shot off of front rest and rear bag. The bipod requirement in F-Class is for F-TR which is a 18.2 pound weight limit. The 17# rule perplexes me as my F-Open rifle scales at 21.4# and does not have provision for a bipod. I have to rebarrel to a lighter contour to be legal.
I guess I understand the basis for the 17# as PA is benchrest centric. However, in the intent of being more inclusive across the various disciplines, I would suggest allowing any two piece rest in either weight class, being front rest or bipod.

Under bench assignment in the rules for the Kiski Match it appears that rotation to a new shooting bay/bench is required for each group of animals/targets/distance or did I not read that correctly. Please clarify because this sounds like a musical chair scenario as well. Maybe the targets/ distance does not permit for shooting all targets from one bench/bay.

Yes I complained last year and hope they corrected it, but yeah moving benches between each animal is just stupid. only 4 people shoot at the same time and all benches can shoot all targets it just is an accident waiting to happen. The match is definitely catering to the tactical guys.

We will be having bench assignments, if you need to share equipment with another shooter please include that info when you register.
