CZ 527 Trigger Question

Did CZ ever produce a 527 without the set type trigger ? just a standard pull trigger ? Thanks in advance,

The set trigger feature can be adjusted out. Can't remember details but it can be done fairly easily. Google it and see what comes up.
Yeah you can adjust it where the set feature is disabled , and you can use it set or unset,, it’s a pretty dang good trigger , all 527s I ever shot had the set trigger but CZ/ Brno is known for their killer curveballs and change ups

I could be wrong, but I never saw or heard of a CZ527 without the set trigger. However they do show, in booklet that comes with the rifle how to reset the trigger system to bypass it.

Same here, this one I am talking about belongs to a friend of mine, I havent actually seen it yet but he says it does not have the set type (push forward) trigger, I have never seen one without the set trigger. I am thinking it may have an aftermarket trigger installed.

I guess I dont get what you mean, I have one that doesn't have the set trigger, by that I mean one that you push forward like a two stage
You have a single stage type trigger in yours ? or is it a set trigger, the one you push forward ? Thanks

I thought a "double set" trigger was one that had two actual triggers where one trigger was used to "set" the trigger while the other was used to fire the weapon. The "double" is referring to there being double, two, actual triggers.

The CZ 527's are a single "set" trigger because they only have one trigger that performs both functions.

A single stage and two stage trigger is generally in reference to something entirely different and having nothing to do with the function of a "set" trigger.

Personally, I never cared for the "set" feature on the CZ 527's because when you push the trigger forward to set it the actual trigger, for me, is now in an odd position as well as pushing the trigger forward to set it tends to upset the gun in the bags. On all my 527's I replaced the trigger pull weight spring with a much lighter spring which allows me to adjust the trigger down about as low as I want. I had one of mine set at 8oz for awhile but ended up liking them best around the 12-14 ounce range. I don't even bother with the "set" feature on my 527's.

I've never seen a 527 that didn't have a single set trigger in it but that certainly doesn't mean there hasn't ever been a 527 without a single set trigger. I'd imagine they're relatively the same so if someone had a non set trigger in their 527 and you wanted to lighten the pull you could most likely replace the pull rate spring with a smaller one and achieve whatever you desire.

I do want to add, if anyone is adjusting on these themselves be extra careful you don't over adjust the sear engagement screw and end up with to little sear engagement To little sear engagement will do two things, one of which is very dangerous. One, it won't reliably catch and reset the trigger to fire. Two, and this is the most important, to little sear engagement will result in slam or bump fires meaning the gun will go off on its own when you close the bolt or when the rifle is bumped. After a trigger adjustment always test this by closing the bolt on a empty chamber and with the safety off and while holding the barrel vertically let the buttpad thump on a hard surface a few times as well as bang around on the gun firmly with your hand. I use a rubber mallet and thump around on the stock trying to make it go off and when it reliably won't I feel pretty confident it's good to go.

The CZ527 MTR had a single stage trigger from the factory. I believe it is the same trigger as the 557 and is adjustable for overtravel, weight and sear engagement. Mine is good enough that I didn't go looking for a replacement.

I have a CZ 527 MTR in 6.5 Grendel. That has a single stage trigger in it. All the other 527s I've owned have had the standard set trigger in them. Some of them, especially the early ones, came with twin set triggers.

I just picked up a 527 MTR in 223 that has a single stage trigger. Took several hours to figure out what I had. I played with it last night and could only go down to just over 2lbs. It is crisp with almost no creep. If I could get that around 14-18oz, would be amazing. Going to see if I can get the spring out and replace it. I saw on another forum someone did that. Any additional info would be helpful.
