Where to releive stock?

Texas Solo

B.S. High Master
I have new McMillan A2 stock for my Savage 12 FTR 308. The bolt release won't press down far enough to release the bolt.
I'm sure it just needs a small amount of material removed from the correct spot, but I don't know where that spot is.
Can anyone post a pic showing where it needs to be fixed?

Get some prussian blue. Put a dab on your action where you suspect it's touching... Put it in the stock... blue mark now on stock. Remove that part.

I've had this issue on a couple OEM Savage BVSS stocks, and it's the end of the return spring on the bolt release lever which is on the backside (butt side) of the lever. Install the action and press somewhat hard to mark the stock, and then remove the material. The end of the spring usually indents the laminated BVSS stock but can't say about the A2 stock.

I'll look at that. I did try using some white model paint on the lever, but it didn't leave a mark.
