Friends that don't Listen Re Rimfire Ammo

I have a friend who doesn't listen and now he can't find any Lapua Center X 22LR. I keep telling him to buy a case of the stuff and he can afford it but he's too cheap to buy it that way and now he's out. So, if anybody knows of any vendors that have it in stock, please let me know because he's not getting any of mine!

Let him pay too much for CenterX or let him shoot with a lower quality ammo. I'm not much for the hoarding mentality but you already did what you could for him.

Well I took CX to an ARA Factory match last Sat. Two lots and 25 bricks total. Only sold 5 bricks at $150 each to 3 shooters. Shooters that need CX tend to have it, those who want CX are the ones who tend to not have it.

There is no such thing as a hoarder now days when it comes to supplies for our shooting sports. It is just very wise to purchase and have on hand what will keep you reloading and shooting, be it loaded ammo or reloading components. Those that stock up on items when the price is still lower and have them to continue shooting and defending themselves and family are not hoarders, they are just good planners for the future.

I don't like hoarders either... BUT to me it's not hoarding if you're going to use it... There's no difference in buying one brick or one case if that's the only ammo you shoot and absolutely need it... Especially an ammo you can't buy at big box stores... My idea of hoarding is the guys waiting outside academy before they open buying whatever and as much as the cart will carry to resale on GunBroker at three times the price... They have no interest in the sport or shooting in general....If you're buying for SHTF situation then you need bulk ammo not a box so I even understand that part....

As far as your friend , he made his bed and you tried to help him but as a grown man he didn't listen.... He will next time or maybe he could sell out and buy a nice fishing pole.... I try telling people stuff all the time and a lot of the time they say I just don't have the money yet they are at a bar spending $5.00a beer etc most days... I had no choice but to stop smoking and finally did 6 months ago , when I did I just stopped drinking also , it wasn't a problem just don't feel like drinking anymore... Now that cigarettes and beer money makes my new truck payment...Same thing with the ammo , instead of it going out a little at a time it goes out in one lump... I promise you either way it's still going out...

I agree it’s not hoarding if you’re going to use it. But there’s a fine line if it takes, say six months to backorder a case of good ammo the maybe I don’t need to have five years worth in hand.

Brand new shooters are caught out and so I try not to leave them out in the cold. If you’ve been at this for a full season and no plan or pipeline for your next ammo purchase, I’m not sympathetic.
