It is interesting how emotional some people are about snakes. I have only killed one in the last 30 years and it was a copperhead in the dog kennel. We have a couple of very nice black snakes under our porches, judging by the shed skins in the 6' range, and they take care of the mice and copperheads.C'mon guys after reading up on the DeKays Brown, he's welcome to stay. Main diet Slugs, mites and earthworms. If he eats all the slugs, the skunks will leave the area. Living in the mountains, I have to share with a wide variety of critters, I don't mind but some I tolerate better than others.![]()
You do have the variety known as politicians.oh, the joys of living in a snake-free country
Looks like a baby black rat snake, they aren’t black when they are young.
There are no good house snakes, to clarify. But those critters will keep mice and other pests away and are harmless. I live on my farm. I've got plenty of snakes but have only seen about 3 venomous snakes here in 54 years, that I can remember. Some snakes will keep the bad ones away too.All of ya'll that think snakes are welcome, how about we ship them to your house and they can live with you.
Ask people who have had snakes in their house if they want any more.
