What is the most soult after 6mm projectile for short range Br?

NC/Br Shooter

I think I know the answer to this but I'm not sure .
For mid range and lots of prs shooter's the Berger hybrid seems to be the most popular. I don't hang with the same crowd I ust to and my equipment is gradually changing.
In the short range Br game, what bullet dominates the matches?
Where on a scale say 1 to 10 would you rank the Berger 68fb as most popular, or used for short range Br?

Sierra's 80 gr. Flat Base Spitzer for a short range 6mm B-R.

By short range, I'm referring to 300 yards or less.

Most 6mm B-R rifles I have seen with a 1-13" or 1-14" twist rate would keep the aforementioned Sierra bullet @ 1/2" or less at 300 yards, as long as the shooter did his or her part.

Probably would be one of the custom bullets like Bart's 68 gr. Avengers.

Ok, Let me ask the question like this, If you had a brand new 12twist in 6bra, .50fb using vv133,
What bullet would you think might work the best?

So many great customs out there.I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Cheek bullets in Texas.I think Ronnie has stopped making them but if you see them at a gun show don’t hesitate to buy all you find.At this point I’d try some Bart’s or Bibs and have fun with your new discipline.

I only fiddle around with a couple very dated BR rifles. So my thoughts hold little water. However, I have been kinda stuck using 52 gr Berger in my 22PPC for lack of easily obtainable 22 BR bullets. I watch for old custom BR bullets in 22 but never see them. I had a few Ross Sherman 22 and they were like diamonds.

In 6MM I can easily get Bergers, etc, but also I have bought up small lots of custom bullets...Cheek, Conaway, Bruno, Euber, Barts, Bib etc. Without any doubt EVERY one of the custom bullets shoots betterer than the Berger. For 100-200 BR, that has has been my experience.

Lots of good quality custom 6mm bullets out there for the short range disciplines. I use mostly 12 twist bbls these days and shoot a lot of 68's and 80's. Both are very competitive. Can't shoot the difference, if there is one. Seems like the 80's might have a very slight edge at 200-300 and give up nothing at 100. Ultimately, there is no single right answer to who's bullet is best. Ya gotta test and with so many really good choices, once tuned, it can be a coin toss in your respective gun/bbl.

Dumbfounding, but true.
I think Berger has adjusted how they do their pricing more than a few times. It's not a simple cost plus formula, though. It used to be, or similar anyway, but nowadays, they've adjusting pricing to popularity etc. They make different gross margins on bullets in part relative to popularity. Over the years, they've discontinued a lot of really good bullets that weren't fast sellers for them. They uised to make a 74gr 6mm bullet that was wonderful but they stopped due to consolidation of sku's that weren't popular..or popular enough. That 74 was stable in a few 14 twist bbl's for me and always shot great. I always liked it better than their 68's, fwiw. Same for their 110gr 30 cal. It was always better for me than their 115's. They dropped the 110's! They probably cut their sku's in half or better, over time. For a long time, they'd make anything you wanted if you ordered 10,000 pieces. They may still. Not sure.
