Wanting advise for new 7mm build

There is a 6-6.5PRC also, however its completely experimental and a Wildcat...just takin the PRC case
to new heights...so to speak

Looking for advice on caliber selection for a new 7mm hunting rifle. I have an 8-twist fluted light Palma 31” blank leaning up against the wall. Can be short or long action. Bolt face doesn’t matter at this point. Style of hunting would be long range western states. Looking for 1500+ barrel life. I reload, so wildcat calibers are an option? Already have 7mag and straight .284. Considering 7-300 PRC, 7-6.5 PRC, 7LRM. Any 1st hand experiences of calibers?
Reading the first two sentences I was thinking 28 Nosler or maybe one of the different wildcats based off of an improved necked down 300 Norma mag like the 284 Terminator from Defensive Edge Rifles.

But, then I got to the " Looking for 1500+ barrel life" part and I think that would eliminate all of those more overbore .284/7mm's so I'd probably go with the new 7mm PRC. Although, you mentioned you already have a 7mm Rem mag sooo depending on how that rifle was throated and the twist rate of the barrel a 7 PRC may not be all that much of an improvement over what you have but if your 7 Rem mag has a slower twist and is throated shorter for shooting the lighter weight bullets, THEN, a fast twist long throated 7 PRC setup to shoot the 180-180+ bullets could be a good choice.

That " Looking for 1500+ barrel life" part of you requirement will pretty much eliminate any of the larger case capacity .284/7mm's. If you could dial back your barrel life prerequisite down to say 800-900, which in a "hunting rifle" is still a lot, then those big case .284/7mm's, especially with that long barrel you have, would be a viable option for you.

It's a hunting rifle.

How dead do you want your game? Seen lots of deer taken with everything from .223/5.56 to .338 LM

Find a cal that you can easily find at any local Walmart or sporting goods store.

Your tube is a 7mm think something like 7 mag. Or whatever fits your fancy.

Don't over think this.

I could be wrong but I am almost positive that when you are eating the backstraps you are not going to be thinking " I should have taken this with a better Caliber. "

Sell it and use the 7Mag. Still my favorite cartridge.
