Bullet pulling 101

I'm getting impatient waiting for my Amazon Quinetics Chinese knockoff hammers to arrive. Had a pile of .25-06 hand loads to take apart. New RP brass and a mix of bullets with RL-22. As it turned out I did not make a .25 hole in my own Davidson style knockoff pliers when I wire cut them. Didn't own a .25 cal. back then... oh well.

Just a short wrap of polishing paper filled the gap nicely on a 26 size. Getting through them fast. Still have to de prime.

I am going to flip a coin and see who here that recently bought .25-06 brass from me gets a little brass and bullet package in the mail. Priority mail, of course.;)

seat them a little to break the current "seat", should pull easier
Yep, I did that pulling a mess of .375 HH apart last week with the hammer. It was a must to crack the bond. These .25's gave up easily without the need for a seater die.

Just picked up an rcbs collet puller and broke down 225 rounds of 10mm. I never knew it could be so easy... been using an inertia puller for years. Wish id have bought one sooner.
A few years ago I traded some powder, or something I didn't need for a set of RCBS collet pullers. I didn't even know what they existed until then. It's SOOO much nicer than trying to use an inertia hammer. Only ones it doesn't work on is if the bullets seated so deep you can't get a bite on the bullet past the ogive.
I've been procrastinating on a bunch of 308 I need to disassemble.

I got a brand new hornady collet puller and a few collets ill do some trading on those 375 bullets and brass if you want

And the winner of the coin toss is AckleymanII. He will be receiving at no cost at all, 37 pcs. of lightly used new Remington .25-06 brass. But wait! He will also be getting 37 assorted pulled bullets perfect for fire forming, getting rough scope zeros, and barrel fouling.

Congratulations AckleymanII

Dude, if you had jumped on that Ruger #1 that sold last week..............they went with the rifle at very modest additional cost. Like 45 pounds of bullets, brass, dies, boxes etc. Sweet deal got snapped up and quick.

ive got the rcbs collet puller, which works good and several of the inertia hammer type. one thing i find that works good with them is to hit them against the little steel anvil on a bench vise. works much better than any kind of wood.

Those using them gawd awful hammer pullers would be well advised to read this:

Those using them gawd awful hammer pullers would be well advised to read this:
Poor primer fit conditions led to a loose primer slamming home or striking the case or jaws resulting in anvil crush detonation. That was a careless decision to even continue loading rounds with loose pockets. Those parameters are outside the recommended use and design of the inertia hammer.

You imply a loose primer you installed need be removed although it remains firm in the pocket and will serve its purpose to discharge the load. < We've all done this and to not admit such is a lie and then risk ourselves with one of them infernal hammers.
Whom on earth thought it was a good idea to subject impact sensitive propellant ignition systems to an inertia hammer ?
Cheap is just that, cheap.

Decades went by before I got a collet puller and collets to match the calibers we have and by that time there was a stack of pulls ready for it to do as I refused to use one of them infernal things !
YMMV
