Marks on bottom of base on scope

I had this mounted on a 6.5 Creedmoor, the right side is the rear of scope, I have read if there is any slack on the scope base to push scope forward, then tighten it up, less than 30 shots, I had it tight

Its a egw base for savage axis2 xp
If your using an EGW base, you shoulda popped for their Keystone line of rings!
And you would have saved 10% buying both at the same time.

I have many of their bases (and rings), and have never seen an accessory come off looking like that.

It’s a Thermal scope. They don’t make rings for that one.E5A3B0CF-FB9E-4CFD-A832-848F3451F6A2.png

My Wraith looks like the one pictured(Kracken) with cross bolts. The factory cross bolts will stretch and the threads will not hold torque if over torqued. I replaced mine with a quick detach( remove the weaver mount from Wraith and replace with the quick detach). I purchased mine used and believe the previous owner had applied 40+ inch pounds on the cross bolts. After several cold warm cycles(winter hunting) one or the other bolts would lose torque. Poi shift would be up/left. The cross bolts are 20 inch lb max. My poi shift ended with the qd base(49.99 Amazon). A new standard base is 20.00+ shipping, if Sightmark has any. The 2 bolts holding the base to the scope body are 40 inch pound, with loctite.
