You’re right to be confused. There are no CBU’s with 8 anything in them. Don’t know why but it’s always an odd number not even.

Sure. Never thought of that. And generally all projectiles are circular not square. (Meaning the initial container is round.) What happens on detonation can produce any imaginable shape.
