Who drives a Prius?

Seeing low to mid 70's(mpg) on our '22 Accord hybrid. That's more or less flat ground, with some moderate hills. AC is a noticeable drain.

Wife got a speeding ticket already....it's easy to do.

I keep it in our "race shed" with several sportbikes,so it lives a pretty charmed life. Popped the hood yesterday doing a little cleanup after a week in Wilmington NC beachy thing. So,checking the oil @6k miles..... looks like you just poured it in there being that clean?

You don't plug a Prius into AC to charge. The gas engine maintains the batteries and a bit from braking. A Prius Prime is a plug in, but that is a completely different engineered setup.

Correct, my wife just gave hers to our oldest granddaughter (under my objection, I knew she would hate going to 25MPG vs 48!), she had it for 9 years and now all I hear is griping! I hated the car, hard for me to get in and out of but at high 40s MPG I could suffer a little, I'm not giving up my F150!

I'm not giving up my F150!

I'm driving a 7 month old F150 first one I ever bought with the standard 6 cylinder (always the V8), on the Highway just shy of 29 mpg, around town 21. I have just over 1600 miles on it, so I think I'm doing my part in conserving for future generations.
I traded a 2008 F150 with almost 44,000 on it, I conserve by not driving when I have nowhere to go.
NO ELECTRICS or HYBRIDS for me.

Apparently they're extremely popular with the Cat thieves, too.
Indeed - i hear many Prius (and other) cars roaring by my house.
I had an uncle that passed away a few years ago that claimed he had the only Prius in California with an NRA bumper sticker on it, lol
Those ones with Namasté or Coexist bumper stickers are often the most aggressive and self righteous drivers in the parking lot. Attitude to counter the wimpy car image.

No prius for me. Gas guzzler or motorcycle are my choices.

Just don't hook a trailer to it with a lawnmower! As many miles as I drive daily, I would have no trouble driving a Prius. What does a vehicle have to do with your "MANHOOD"?

I never got it, except maybe in high school trying to attract girls. I see Ferrari’s and Maseratis driving around. I just smile. They might be fun to zip around in if not for all the traffic. Can’t fit a gun case in one, or a fishing rod. It’s really just an ego booster showing off how much money you can waste on transportation. I just don’t have a need for it. My ego isn’t tied to the car I drive. If I meet someone that thinks it’s more important than who I am, well ...they can pack sand.

My 2009 Corolla was given to me by a customer, it now has 310,000 miles on it. My 4 door 4wd Duramax has 315,000 on it.
I can't justify another vehicle until one of these are irreparable.
$3.98 at Walmart yesterday.

Rode in one once

W A Y to low to the ground for me......

I prefer something with a solid frame & more metal around it

Even if it's only 16 mpg....as in this '03 Lexus LX I pulled home from PHX AZ last year

Built it up to be used as my Utah overland rig........great solid truck

It’s a free country (at least for now anyway). One should be able to drive whatever they choose and can afford to. We all have our preferences and our good enough for me ideas.

I need a truck more often than not so my daily is a 2001 f150.

My oldest son and family have 2 Toyota Hybrid Highlanders. He said he doesn't believe he will save enough in fuel to pay for the extra cost of the hybrid.

Regenerative braking does charge the batteries but only minimally. Other than that, battery must be charged via AC wall charging station. There are REEVs (range extended electric vehicles) that actually have a gas engine that is not attached to the drivetrain in any way, and only serves as a generator to charge the batteries.

I've always wondered why ships are able to use a diesel/electric setup, but not cars/trucks. It seems that if a small-for-size diesel engine will generate enough electricity to power a ship, it should be able to scale down for road use. Then again, what do I know?

My wife had the Prius V (Station wagon), very good car until she met an elk in Show Low Az. Not so good any more. Totaled

Getting in and out of every vehicle is tough, even the F150 at times. I'm fused from tail bone to L3, right hip is on the way out and both knees are bone on bone so small cars are out. Getting in and out of my wife's full size Ford taurus is getting harder and harder but life goes on.
I don't try to influence anybody's spending when it comes to a car or truck, it is you that has to drive it so drive what you like.
