Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Hi everyone!

I'm a young quy from Finland. This time i have 6BR rem with 13" HSPrecision stainless steel varmint barrel. Use to shot Sierras. They work well for me, expesially 75gr Varminters...
go lighter on bullet weight your twist is slow you can shoot further

Evening guys, I'm a year into centerfire and reloading. Keen to gain experience and pic brains to fast track my reloading and save some money on ladders, OCW, seating depth timing etc... currently balls deep into trying to get bullets to fly just right for my first PRS match.
So far it's been fun and also frustrating when I think I'm doing it right but things don't go as expected. Look forward to you guys chipping in to help!

Hello all,

Newbie. I've been reloading for about a year and a half. I shoot 9mm and 45 cal hand guns. I had a horrific accident last Monday. Explosion destroyed my sig 2911 WTP. Shrapnel hit my cheek. Lots of blood but not serious. This is why I am here. I don't have a clue what happened. I presume too much powder. I'm using layman reload book As well as the hodgon website. I'm using Winchester 231. I have been loading 5.5 grains. Since the accident I paid closer attention and noticed a pretty big discrepancy between the two sources. This where the newbie comes in. How do I know what to believe? Feel free to ask for details. I figured I said enough for now. BTW I am tearing down 2200 rounds and starting over

Hello All,

I'm new to the forum but I've been reloading since the late 70's. Currently equipped to reload .223, .243, .270, .308, .32 auto, .380, 9mm, .45, .38/.357, .44mag, and looking to try to put together some loads for an old .32 Long Colt.

Happy to be a part of a like minded community. Thank you all in advance for all the help I'm sure you will provide.

Tim

I'm also new to the forum. I've dabbled with reloading for many years but am really only just getting serious about it. My previous experience has really just been loading light to mid power loads using the published recipes for plinking.

My goal now is to learn to develop tuned consistent and precise loads for my pistols, revolvers, and rifles.

I currently am set up to load 38 Special, 357 Magnum, and 9mm for pistols / revolvers and rifles. Also, I am set up to load 30-30 Winchester, 270 Winchester, and 30-06 Springfield. I have access to 45 ACP, 35 Remington, and 45-70 dies. I plan to also do 223 Remington / 5.56 as well. I load both cast bullets, and jacketed in the above.

For cast bullets, I love playing around with Trail Boss powder in 357 Magnum, 30-30 Winchester, and 45-70.

For jacketed, I don't really have a favorite powder and am going to experiment to find what works best in each of my firearms.

OK enough babbling. I hope to learn a lot from you all and to take advantage of your experiences, recipes, and advice.

Thanks for having me.

Im from NY. New to firearms. New to reloading. Still doing a lot of research before I even begin to reload, and found this site. I was impressed by the level of activity and friendly banter on this forum.
What part of NY? I'm out Rochester way, next county east. Eric

Hello all. Just found these forums recently and joined a few days ago. I don't reload, yet, but I have recently purchased a Ponsness Warren 800 Plus and an 800 B, with the hopes of refurbishing them and ultimately sell them. A good friend of mine has reloaded for years and is helping to refurbish it so I don't screw it up somehow. Actually, I pretty much just stand there while he does the work! I'm excited to see how they turn out!

Fairly New on here but not elsewhere . Shoot reload #18 calibers not including 28 , 20 ,12 gauge .

Been pulling the handle over #54 years now ,so as the guy on the boob-tube says ,we've seen a thing or two .

Main thing to remember during life is , the day you stop learning ,is the day you get dirt in your face !.

Stay alert be vigilant If You don't know ASK and if you DO know share ,it's how others learn .

Hello from central Va. Just found this site and joined, I’m new to reloading but been shooting for over 50 years. I just bought a single stage press and am set up for 9mm. I can’t find primers or powder yet but I did buy a pound of Accurate TCM yesterday to maybe trade for some 9mm Luger rated powder.

New to the forum from Portland Oregon, used to be proud of that. New to reloading hoping to soak up as much knowledge as possible. Reloading 308 for the most part but planning the leap into 300 blackout. Found reloading is almost as fun as shooting if that’s possible.

Good afternoon to all:
Thank you for approving me to the forum. I'm a retired military guy (1982-2016, had a break in service). Once I retired, I did what many do, I purchased an entry level AR so I can learn more, knowing that there was much more to it than just point and shoot. Besides, the Arms Room NCO took care of all the rifles need, all we did was shoot it, dirty it, and clean it, the tinkering of it was the arms room personnel. So, I had used every version of the M16 that was ever made up til 2016. My AR15 is an M4 variant that shot well right out of the box and I did the research and upgraded to what I understood was needed in furniture, barrel and trigger. I'm happy with the results. In the summer of 2020, I purchased everything needed to start reloading but....... we all know everything changed, my timing missed and for a whole year and a half NO PRIMERS... Well now I was able to secure five boxes of primers and I'm ready to go. Done reading everything possible to learn and now here to do more learning and exchanging good thoughts. Good day and thank you.
PS: My upgraded version of the M4, it shoots nicely/ok factory ammo, now to do good ammo. Yeah, I'm a left-handed shooter.

Hi,

I am new here...reloading for about five years...mostly pistol and PCC. During Covid I was using primers I put away years ago and soon I will be trying some foreign stuff as a trial. Domestic primers are still quite rare in So Cal especially pistol primers.

Primer availability has been my main reloading problem during Covid....

I was using small rifle primers for pistol but finding that the available primers would not always function.

Thankfully my Rossi 92R runs just about everything including CCI-41s. God bless those Brazilians.

Primer substitution has been a new learning experience. :)

John
John, Try WIKIARMS on your primer needs. I would introduce myself but do not know how to make a entry to do so. Dead On

Dead On: here , very new member. Ive reloaded for many years. Have a Savage 300 Winchester Magnum rifle and I always carry a Glock 21 45ACP.when away from the house. When the crazies started shooting, I started carrying.30 to 40 years a Whitetail Hunter. Used a Mossberg 500 with slug barrel and had more than excellant success with the 1oz Remington Slug. Have trapped, small game hunted but most of my hunt time was in the Whitetail hunts. Area our club had was in N.Y.S. 8T near Southern Tier Cameron,N.Y.. Stayed at the Canesteo Gun club for opening which we rented. Best Deer which I got in a deep ravine while still hunting was a 9 point I shot in his bed.
