30-06 fans sell me on it

Just did some engine work for guy who didnt have much money so i asked what do you have to trade he said i have a old rem700 30-06 to trade i said what the hell why not i dont own a 30cal got home started lookin at reload data and found out that all the powders i have (slow stuff) dont really match this cartridge but with times the way they are i dont want to rack up a gunsmith bill so what can i do with it "ie" pro's and con's kind of thing

When a Young Man from, 1964 to 1975ish, I used 150 grain Hornady's and H-4895 to Rack up, quite a few, Mulies !
I had, a 1903 A3, .30-06, 2 groove, NRA Springfield, that cost me, $17.50 plus, a few bucks to have, the bolt lowered and drilled / tapped for, a 4X Weaver. With my Dad's help, I finished / Glass Bedded, a stock from Bishop at 15 y/o and killed my first Buck, the next year at 16 and 3 deer in Utah at 17.
Found out later that, the 165's and 180's ( Partitions ) were better for, Elk, tho ! Thought, I had to have, a new, L-Handed, .270 Weatherby Mag. Mk V but, it never killed stuff, any deader than, the old 06, did !
STILL, a Great Caliber,.. Today ! Good luck with, your New Rifle !

Not a huge list of rifle powders that won't work in the '06, with the appropriate bullet.
Thinking you just load the Maximags and 50 BMG?

What powders do you have?

With a proper throat and freebore you can stuff enough R22 or H4350 in it to launch a 190 berger 2800 to 2850 fps. 3.4 to 3.6 OAL. Longer oal, more powder room.

4064 and the like for lighter bullets.

I'd like to try some 4831 for 185+ grains.

R23,r26 are my fav i will move heaven and earth to find those. 100v, H and imr 4350, 8133,h1000,7828,4000 power pro, vv570,vv160,165,h4831 and some others

No need to sell it, it sells itself.

Unlike old cars and motorcycles, there are plenty of old cartridges that still perform admirably, regardless of what millennials on the web say. Facts are still facts, regardless of "consensus".

The '06 is from a time when soldiers were riflemen and were expected to, and many were capable of, making hits at 1000 yards. Don't confuse that with today's idea of "making hits".
