Doing a 6 Dasher, need help

Had JGS make a reamer last year and recently picked up a Lilja 8 twist barrel so I am going to put together a 6 Dasher for longer prairie dog shots. Would appreciate suggestions on which brass to use and where to get it. Any loads/ loading tips with 87 V-Max up through 105 ELD, etc. Best dies to get and source. Planning to make a Wilson micrometer seater from an extra 6BR die with the chambering reamer. Any help and pointers on this round would be appreciated. TIA

The Wilson F/L (threaded) bushing die works extremely well for me. Midway still has them in stock last time I looked. These 6mmBR wildcats love near max - max loads with Varget, RL 15 & 17 w/CCI 450 primers. The Berger 105 VLD has been the most accurate in my 1 - 8 Tw. rifle but I do not have any of Bart's bullets YET.

As far as I know Peterson and Alpha are the only to two sources for caliber headstamped brass. I've been using Peterson and blown out Lapua. The Peterson is probably a bit more precisely made but has less internal capacity than Lapua. I use Harrell's sizing dies. They are hard to beat in my opinion.

Checked my brass inventory and still have 350 rounds of Gold Box 6BR so got a Whidden's hydro form die coming and will make the brass from Lapua. Got a Wilson micro seater and bushing FLS coming also, so I am set until I can get some things together. Also have all those powders plus N550 if that is a good one. And have BR4, Wolf SRM and 5.56, and 450's. Bullets I have are 87 V-Max, Hornady 105ELD, Berger 105 and Meyer 103. That oughta be enough confusion for awhile.
Really appreciate everybody's input. Will keep y'all informed as things progress. Later, Joe

6 Dasher - I use Whidden FL bushing die and Whidden Micrometer seater, Alpha brass, 105 Berger Hybrids, Varget and CCI 450. Savage "Target" action, Criterion 1:7.5, McRee chassis, Ezell PDT tuner and Vortex GE. I only have 3 reloading on the brass, but I am very pleased so far.

@SmokinJoe , not finding factory made 6 Dasher brass available in stock is par for the course.

If you are patient, this stuff should cycle back around from Alpha and Peterson in time for p-dog season.

I would still follow through with your idea for fireforming some of what you already have to make sure you don't get stuck waiting. The hydroforming by hand isn't a fun job, but tends to give decent results.

I am torn between hydroforming versus using a combined false neck with light jam and then just fireforming. It all took a back seat once Alpha came out with ready made brass. I don't miss the extra steps.

Several friends and I have had some pretty good performance (below 1/2 MOA) while doing the fire-form shots, so think about spreading that work out while you hunt rather than just blasting them for brass.

You are going to have a ball with it once you have it all worked out. The p-dogs are going to hate it.
