What is the state of Alliant powder ?

Been on the lookout for power pro 2000 & noticing that the availability of anything non black powder type seems to be non existent.

A local gun store here finally got some Alliant powders, but It was limited to 10x and RL50 and one jug of Blue Dot. I’ve seen green and red dot as well the last few months and even some Unique. I talked to a dealer here I buy from at times, that mainly sales at gun shows and to competitive shooters about Alliant powders. He said his distributors can’t even get it. I did luck out last year and get some RL16 and RL26. One dealer said the RL26 was the first they had in over 2 years, so that’s pre-COVID and they couldn’t get it.

This thread has some hints as to when more is expected in the country.

You should ask @Alliant Reloading that question.

Paul is on here pretty regularly. If anyone would know when we can expect more Alliant goodness it would be him.
@Alliant Reloading where are you?!
I could use more RL26 and 15.5 (getting best velocity and accuracy with it in 223 with 90 grain).

Guys,
We are still in business, but demand clearly exceeds what all of us are able to get into distribution to meet that demand. We are continually receiving material, packing and shipping out as fast as we can and trying to spread the available supply to our twenty-some distributors.
I am sorry to say, but this will take some more time to stabilize.
Best,
Paul

Fin Feather and fur here in Ohio has had about 5-10 different flavors of Alliant power on the shelf. RL15 will cost you $50 and there is a limit of one lb per day. But it does exist. For price comparison H4895 is $41.

I too would like to have some 2000MR but I haven't even seen it at any retailer (online or LGS) for a couple of years. I have to wonder where all the powder is going too, or if it's even being made while they concentrate on more profitable/popular items.

As I understand we reloaders only see the excess & little surprise that the excess has been near nonexistant for an extended period of time now. In the case of Alliant powders their lack of excess has left me troubled & seriously concerned at the extended drought of supply.

Seems clear to me that others here have been wondering as well.

If I left anyone offended to suggest that we all may spread a bit of BS from time to time then I am sorry if you take offense. As Mark Twain may have eluded to every man has a similarity to the moon in that we all have at least a bit of a dark side.

Thanks again all!

FYI. I've picked up 36lbs of 2520, 32 lbs of BLC2 in the past 9 months by watching what becomes available. I've seen MR2000 available a couple times, but not using it any more.

I still have a little dab of reloder 10x. Sometimes I like to open it and look at it. Just to remember what Alliant powder looks like. Same with the Unique I have. One day, I will score some R-15.....

Big shout out to wattsdk!!!!. He responded to my looking for Reloder 33. It feeds my 338Imp. I don't shoot it often, but when I do, it's thirsty!
