Oregon already has it on the books, if a firearm is stolen from you, or you lost it....
You can be charged with the crime in which it was used in, making you just as responsible as the asshole committing the crime.
Also your required to keep all firearms locked and ammo stored separately.

But please do , Austin Texas is a great example of comifornia libs moving to Texas....The whole town needs to be burned to the ground and start over.... Perfect liberal math 25·5500= 137500 which covers the 40 million. When they figure out it doesn't, than the "insurance fees" will need to be raised(every year). And they created a LIST, which would remain confidential, until it accidentally is released. No wonder the packages are being stolen out of freight cars, ghost gun parts are at a premium in California. I wondered why what is being stolen hasn't been talked about, I figured everyone knows firearms,parts,ammo, controlled substances. Another lib/commie city that is doing nothing to curb illegal guns or criminals, who sure as heck will not be buying insurance and liability coverage, as the city wants.
Just the lawful and legal gun owners and citizens will have to do so, and charged, if they don't.

Are you grandfather in if you own before this law takes affect?
Are the local police going to make a list of all guns purchased for the last 100 years
thru the state records and knock on every door and ask for your insurance card?
Seem like a really big task.
I thought the police were going to be "defunded"

I know many good folks that live in California. Especially, from the northern parts of the state. They love their land as much as I love mine and are doing a lot to get things changed. I, for one, hope that they gain ground and can get things turned around.

Yes, the eastern half of the state is pretty normal, but I don't see things getting any better in my lifetime. We are simply outnumbered by libs in the cities. The State of Jefferson is our only hope and the chances aren't good.

California's got state-wide preemption in the laws, for the RKBA (arms). They flatly disallow ordinances by municipalities. I'm sure this will get a lawsuit, right quick; I doubt this attempt at an end-around of California law will survive the challenge.

Of course, it's gotten ugly with the RKBA, and all manner of wonderful tactics are being attempted by the anti-RKBA types. Anything's possible.
