Recommendation for shaping a wood blank?

Not to be an ass but what does a Don Allen duplicator have to do with laying that blank out. I agree it's upside down. The blank doesn't look big enough to flip it. I have 2 Don Allen duplicators and neither one of them will grow wood on a blank.
Contact Doyle Anglin at Dixie Guns, he has a Don Allen duplicator and could lay it out to get the grain going the right direction through the wrist.

I'm going to leave this go because I'm not getting into a pissing contest on this site. I do take exception to "not just on occasion"! I've been making a living at this for over 10 years now. I do know Doyle's work quite well trust me. Just for a frame of reference I have over 1,200 patterns.
Just commenting that he has a quality duplicator. Doyle does all of the Shehane stocks and as well as many other stocks weekly not just on occasion.
He has well over 100 pattern stocks so he has the experience to get it laid out correctly. If it "can " be flipped and done properly he can do it.

Biting my tongue. Have a nice day also.
I'm sorry you feel you are being attacked and this is turning into a pissing contest...
It was not my intent.
I made a simple statement about where the o/p could get his blank turned.
Clearly you have some issues going on in your life today that you feel so belittled.
I hope things get better and " you certainly do have a nice day" !

He was probably thinking of me. I’m the guy that does it as a hobby.

It does look a little too tight, but, just... maybe...
Perhaps the OP can lay the stock upside down over the blank, and post a photo.
So I can sleep at night.

Personally, I would put a reversed piece, maybe even with a thin line of dark wood between, along the toe,
or or some such treatment, before I'd build that beautiful piece of wood with the grain upside down.

I think It might be a tough one to get it turned around. Maybe a nice ebony grip cap? This will be a Varmint rig with a BAT action single shot and an LV barrel contour. I purchased the wood 4 years ago for $40 so if it’s unusable with the grain upside down it’s not a big deal. I do have a couple other wood blanks but they don’t have figure in them. I will be contacting Jesse to work on the details.

I'm wondering if he dosen't have a different pattern that would fit the blank better and still be appealing to you for a walking rifle.

Wondering the same, I originally was thinking a Mcmillan Remington/Sako Varmint or Manners MCS-T style. I just happened to finally get back this Manners T2(ish) copy and thought that might be easy for someone to go off of. It still has the duplicator center in the butt.

I know he has a original M40 that might fit the blank.
Jesse is also very good at finishing also. Looking forward to see what you guys come up with.
