Anybody using RL50 in 300 RUM w/230gr.?
Seems to be the only powder I can find that is slow enough.

My 26 Nosler loves H50BMGI wouldn't do it way to slow, try to beg steal or borrow or trade for that matter, I wouldn't be surprised if
you were totaly unsatisfied with the end results. I have never seen 50bmg powder work in anything well than in a 50 cal. I am sure someone will chime in and say it is the best powder they have ever used. if you feel you have no alternative load a few at a time and go from there.

I think it might work! Go for it. You're probably going to get impressive velocity without pressure problems.Anybody using RL50 in 300 RUM w/230gr.?

I will send you the info.As a couple of the other gentlemen have mentioned, in the present time we are dealing with we sometimes have to make due with the resources that we have available. And as @Kurz stated, I’d be looking to load those rounds as long as I could and single feed that big 30 cal. with the heaviest bullets I could find that I knew would stabilize in the twist rate of your barrel. - I will gladly provide to you Quick-Load data if you provide the Cartridge Over-All Length, your desired bullets and we’ll give you a starting point of 55 KPSI all the way up to what is SAAMI maximum pressure. And I’m willing to say that that big girl will get out and run like a cat that’s had turpentine rubbed on it’s a$$. Your fortunate to have 230 gr. Berger Hybrids in the current state of affairs as I don’t see them available on any of the on-line dealers and haven’t for a few weeks now. - As I stated, I wish you were closer as I’d trade evenly pound for pound some of the Retumbo that I have.
Let me know if I can help with providing you Quick-Load data.

He can find RL50 but US869 is pretty scarce. I do think US869 may be a better choice due to the fact it is a spherical powder and not as dense. Alliant has not description of RL50 being spherical or extruded but I'm guessing it is an extruded powder. You might think I am off the wall here, but you might want to try US869.
I'm happy to see this. I seem to remember seeing RL50 on the shelf at a local LGS last week. May have to call and check it out.Works great in the 300 norma improved and 230s with very impressive ES and SD. Awesome case fill and accuracy. Should work great in your setup.
