New guy from Canada.

Hi guys! Happy to have stumbled onto the forum. I’m a fairly new shooter (about 4 years) and I’m switching from the caliber I cut my teeth on, 6.5 Creedmoor, to 6mmBR. I’ve got just about everything I need for the switch aside from a barrel. That order is placed with Straight Jacket Armory for a cut rifled Benchmark in VCC contour finished to 28” length. The 6.5CM felt like a great first choice, and over the course of 3 barrels, and a Bergara HMR, I really did learn a lot, but I’m ready to take the accuracy and precision to the next level.
Because this is the internet and this thread is worthless without pics, here’s some pics of the current rifle.
In the interest of keeping the op short, I’ll keep build details for those that ask about it.

Welcome to the forum! Where abouts in Canada are you! I’m from southern Ontario myself. Great site, helpful people and tons of information and knowledge here. Nice looking rifle, but missing the details ;) lol

1. Welcome to the Forum. I'm glad to welcome someone who posts good, sharp photos.

2. Glad to see someone who includes Extreme Spread (ES) with chrono results. A lot of the PRS guys seem to be happy with SD numbers only, which tell us less about the quality of your reloads.

3. What is the story on that #4 group? Why so much better than the rest.

4. Before switching to the 6mmBR, you may want to test your magazine function. There are mags that will feed it reliably but you may need a modified follower.

Thank you Forum Boss for the warm welcome.
I'm a very numbers/data driven person. I'm a machinist/Applications Engineer in my professional life, so if the ES are low, the SD must be as well. I've learned that my meticulousness pays dividends when implemented at the reloading bench.
Group number #4 is so much better because that ended up being my accuracy node, and the stars aligned for me too, but the rifle is definitely more consistent than I am with that load.
I have MDT BR mags inbound. Just purchased on their Black Friday sale yesterday. Cheers!

Welcome to the fold. Good bunch and lots of information offered and accepted. I guess that is you in the one photo, right ?
Very nice looking rifle set up and thanks for the photo's, we do love photo's. BIll K
Haha. That's my 12 year old. He's more into trap shooting with me than precision rifle, but that's not what this forum is for.

Apparently I need to learn wind now, because I’m told this, “flyer” could have been a 2mph wind at 300 yards. That, or perhaps a 4 shot attention span. This was shot prone off the bipod and large Gamechanger for a rear bag.

Hahha.
I keep them there and toss a dummy in from time to time to check for a flinch. I don’t have one. Yet anyway. I could just cock the bolt, but I feel like if I go through the motions I might trick my brain. So far I’ve managed to outsmart myself every time.

Beautiful rifle! I’ve never seen or handled an arc action or Jae chassis!
I’m in st. George and also a member of twin city. What’s the chances eh! Been a member for 7 years roughly and would like to get into galt as well!

im also looking at getting into a br, but looking at the bra for either my tl3, terminus Zeus or my kelbly haven’t decided yet, but believe it will be for my Zeus

I was on their waiting list for close to 3 years. This was my first season as a member. I shoot a lot of trap with Wayne, Brian, and Andrew, and Harold Frey and his wife Izzy shoot rimfire night at Galt through the summer.

Right on! What’s galts rimfire night?
Thursday evenings from 5-7, the ol’ boys open up the toy boxes and shoot silhouette from 25m to 100m.
It’s about the only thing I can get my daughter to shoot with me.
Here she is with a Savage stainless in a Boyd’s At-one. I don’t know why it’s sideways.
And my so with my Anschütz, and my father with my CZ457.
