Sad Day for 2A

Stolen this? Weaponized that? Whaaaa! Whaaaa! Whaaa!

Time for the Republican Party to reflect, reform and broaden their appeal. They'd do well to start by no longer promoting complete a$seholes as their chosen ones. They're already too reliant on an antiquated electoral college system which is the biggest affirmative action program for rural white voters the world has ever seen. Basic demographics and urbanization present a serious headwind.

Here's hoping they do.

As for the Senate, well, all eyes on Georgia for January 5th. Say your prayers as they'll be needed. Better yet, if your Georgian - vote!
Antiquated electoral college? Realize that that is the firewall preventing tyranny of the majority, tyranny of a pure democracy(which is exactly what the left wants); preventing a mere handful of coastal states controlling the entire country, nullifying the wishes off ALL other states. It was an absolutely brilliant idea by the founders, and you would remove it? Better rethink this.

You just made my point. Thanks!!
Any time brother! Its an awful deal, but until you've had to fight and finance a lawsuit against the full weight of the federal government ( I have ) its very easy to say things.

I don't like it, I hate it! But if anything like what you mentioned gets done, its gonna have to be massive and well organized to have any effect at all!

And the organizer needs to have awful deep pockets and be on the move and be very smart.

Also willing to give up everything he has, everything he's worked for, probably even his family!

Our DOJ that has done nothing at all about the criminals in DC will be ALL OVER what you propose.

So, like I said, you go first.

Still making my point.

I just hope the Republicans in Georgia do a better job of obtaining mail in/ absentee votes. Control of the senate and Supreme Court is key to maintaining 2nd amendment rights on a national level. Your state and local legislators or morons, depending on where you live, are key to maintaining local rights.
Unfortunately, too many people are focused on this conspiracy theory stolen election, planned and orchestrated by the Republican National party because they knew they had screwed the pooch and had not prepared to compete with the dems on a national level for absentee/ mail in votes. With the onset of Corona, and greater extensions of mail in voting, they knew they were in trouble. Hopefully, they will get busy in Georgia or we are about to see “stolen” senate races.
Well, there goes the Hearing Protection Act.

If we are lucky enough to maintain control of the Senate, America has a chance of survival. Two years from now there will be another election in which all members of the House will be up for re-election. History shows that the party of the sitting president looses seats in both houses in the off year.

Control of the Senate is most important as it is they who control appointments to the Judiciary. This will prevent the Democrats from stacking the Supreme court or even appointments to the lower courts.

The Courts are our protection, against a tyrannical President, who attempts to subvert the 2nd Amendment. If we maintain control of the Senate, it will be hard for the left to pass hard core anti gun legislation.

My guess is that come January Biden will attempt to pass legislation that infringes on our rights, especially on so called "Assault Weapons." If passed, it will automatically cause many law abiding citizens to choose between cutting up a valued piece of American weaponry or become a closet criminal.

Sadly what this means to all of us is a continued shortage of ammunition, and hand loading components. We are all afraid of them being gone from the shelves. We are all buying as much as we can find out of fear and that will not change in the next two years.

Many gunsmiths are experiencing a downturn in business and a few of the older ones are closing up shop. Without naming anyone there is a very respected smith in my area who has apparently shut down, as many of you have tried to reach him lately to no avail.

The other side of the equation is the fact, that Trump seems to be hell bent of going to court.

So it ain't over till the fat lady sings.

States like California and New York use this same reasoning on why the Senate needs to be changed or disbanded. They say why should states like Montana and North Dakota get 2 Senators when they only get 2.
This was another brilliant idea by the founders to protect the states.

We are surrounded by ignorance and/or stupidity. What few realize is that there would be no republic and as a result, no United States were it not for the Electoral College. During the Constitutional Convention none of the other 12 colonies wanted to be ruled by New York. The solution was the Electoral College as enshrined in
Article II Section I of the Constitution and modified via the 12th amendment.

The fundamental argument for the Electoral College has not changed. If anything it is more relevant today and within many states, should be extended down to the county level within a given state. Doing so would prevent the city of NY from dictating public policy for all on NY state. Same goes for Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, LA/San Francisco and others.

The bottom line being that should the Electoral College be dissolved, being that it is the foundation of the republic, the republic is dissolved at the same time.

I know of several shooters that compete with a service rifle that voted for the candidate that has pledged to make them register them with the NFA (and pay the $200 tax) or surrender them because Trump made them sad, not all gun owners are a friend of the 2A

This is an excellent idea, and one that should theoretically not be hard to implement since the rules for awarding electoral votes is decided by state legislatures. We ought to get a movement going at the state level to have more states vote similar to Nebraska and Maine, although I don't know how I feel about awarding electoral votes based on the overall vote total as well as by district. I feel like by district should be adequate enough but what do I know, I'm just a hayseed grease monkey.

Great Idea,county level.......

Of course it should be said that the alternative to extending the Electoral College down to the county level would be to break up the states into smaller and more representative states. This solution is one that has been practiced with regularity in the largest democracy in the world, India. It seems to work.
