I will use both, but mainly use a nylon 90% of the time ... and for the record, all nylon brushes aren’t the same!

Edit: Never used a brush in my normal Sharps cleaning.. Paper patch no leading..

I use a nylon brush unless the borescope indicate more is needed. Then I will use a bronze bruch. Your poll should allow for both.

I use a nylon one, here and there, not everytime, just when I believe it needs a little more scrubbing.

Always patches and nylon. Maybe bronze.
Usually after several cycles of Bore Tech Eliminator/C4, I move on to Holland's Witch's Brew to clean the carbon out.

Back "in the day" when even custom barrels needed to be broken in, I did a test on two of them. From the first bullet down the bore, I started with a tough (as in the "blue" Iosso nylon brushes) I cleaned the bore, shot a round, cleaned, etc..etc.. It appeared to work. So I finished the break-in, cleaned it and took it over to my 'smith who inspected it with a Hawkeye. He said it was streaked with hard carbon. So I took some JB and got to work. I did the same thing with a different barrel. Same results. So, I abandoned that experiment and went back to bronze brushes.. NOTE: I still use stiff nylon brushes, but to clean out or, in reality, KEEP a carbon ring from forming.

Bronze brush. Sometimes I wrap a patch around it and use JB and Kroil. I use Bore Tech C4 and Bore Tech Eliminator mostly. Getting ready to order the aluminum Dewey jags so I don't get a false copper reading like I do with the brass jags.

Patch with Oil; Patches with Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner; Brush two fills of Subaru on bronze; Patch clean; patch thru with oil til next shoot, dry with one patch.

First shot is always in the group.
