Freakin chineseum mystery metal;

Made the spring compressor. Pride myself in threading on a lathe,or hand threading for that matter. By the time I figured out how flippin cheesy the piece of tubing I grabbed for the drive side.... well,it's pretty bad.

But,the rest if it is nice....woohoo.

Tigged the blocks on and while it was still warm/hot,slammed krinkle black spraybomb on it. Then threw it all up on the shop griddle to cook for awhile. Snagged a scrap piece of $$$ mahogany and ran it across a shaper for a little cove to kill the top sq edge. Shot tinted lacquer and hit it with a heat gun to force dry.

EA 40 epoxied the two together and then cast up some 60g cast 22's.

Put the new Gre-Tan std FP spring in. Found a place on the shelf for this one,instead of hiding it?

In addition to many other things I make for myself, I also make my own action wrenches.
the one on the left is for a Bat M, the one in the middle is for the Bat Neuvo, the one on the right my Farleys.

I Machine them from what ever size Grade 8 bolt Will make it.

Grade 8 bolts are a good source for material when needing a piece of high tensil alloy steel For small parts.

Checking neck tension today with a Starrett 700 in a sweet little baby B&S vise. Looks like .223 ID on a .2255 cast 60g should do it.

22-250,run up through the mag,as fast as you can work the action. Lite jam,neck sized with 8 firings,on cheapa$$ Hornady brass that was like,stupid close on neck thickness BTW. Screenshot_20201023-124050_Gallery.jpg
