Are you ready?

Right now we are at DEFCON 3 at our house. Specifics as to readiness, armaments, response, logistics, and mobilization are classified. :D

DEFCON 1 War is imminent or has already started. Maximum readiness. Immediate response.
DEFCON 2 Next step to war. Ready to engage.
DEFCON 3 Increase in readiness above that required for normal readiness. Ready to respond and engage within 5 minutes.
DEFCON 4 Increased intelligence watch and strengthened security measures.
DEFCON 5 Lowest state of readiness.

Color code analogy would be somewhere between YELLOW and ORANGE

At least we know when to go to Defcon 1! About a week after they start counting the mail in votes!

My neighbor spent his money going to Vegas. I spent mine on food, guns and ammo. He made his choice. His attitude will depend on whether or not i feed him. I am thinking humble request will go farther than a demand.

And in February of 21 youall will be selling your prepper stuff cheap and trying to get ready for a good upcomming competitive match . No sense in flaming the fire , the ammo shortage is self induced . At least my collection is valued back to pre trump days . Too bad he never got to get allthe collectible m-1 carbines and garands back into this country . Remember , no country with a dictator allows ownership . While guns may remain in our hands , what good are they when ammo will be eliminated as a measns of control . Buy long heavy rifles , theyre better as clubs . This may be my last post

If you have reached the point that you feel it is necessary to point your firearm at someone, you better be pulling the trigger or you will be a dead man. Make your first shot count.

Pointing your firearm at a criminal and not really meaning it, is about as effective as telling your 2 yo not to touch the knobs on the TV for the 4th time.

I was referring to a situation like the St. Louis couple. It's probably ok [and sometimes effective] but to point it at someone who is not an immediate threat can get your ass in trouble when the threat goes away. If you point it at someone and they turn around and leave are you still going to pull the trigger?

I'm glad that I don't live in a town/city. If they get this far out, it's probably already pretty far gone.

Is there any evidence these rioters are getting any training? Do they know that getting hit in the armor will feel like they've been shot? My guess is it will put them down long enough to get the upper hand.

That said, it's important to have lots of rounds and extra mags.

Its a terrible thing to live in fear.. i refuse too.. as mentioned its hard telling what any of us would do except those that have been trained for such a encounter.. im guessing it would be a hard thing to do to take anothers life.. and if you could you would have to live with it.. in the heat of the moment maybe its in us all.. lets hope we dont have to find out..

The guy in St Louis could have been just as effective with a rifle in his hands and never pointed at anyone. When the threat gets too close, that is when you commit. If I have to point a gun barrel at someone threatening me or my family, they won't have time to turn and run.

What concerns me more than having to deal with AntifaRT thugs attacking you are the consequences afterwards, especially in areas of this country that puts criminals ahead of law abiding citizens. The DAs in those areas would come after you with a vengeance and the legal costs of defending yourself would be astronomical, and the potential is there of losing everything and ending up in prison for protecting yourself and your family. Look at the recent case of that kid in Kenosha. He gets locked up with $1M cash bail and the guy who pointed the handgun at him doesn't face any charges AFAIK.

For me most of those videos are too hard to follow in real time speed. I would say that Rittenhouse went to Kenosha looking for trouble and he found it. WTF does some Illinois idiot think that he's going to go to Wisconsin and play vigilante? Screw him.

The problem I have with a guy running around in a riot with an AR is it makes me nervous. When I get nervous I protect myself. Therefore that guy is a target. I’m not gonna ask him what side he’s on. Don’t care, I’m nervous! Do unto others first! Before they do unto you.

I keep hearing about “all the pigs” in Texas! I haven’t seen ONE on my property or the surrounding 300 acres! They musta heard I moved in!:D:eek::eek::eek:
Hah...Perhaps your reputation did proceed you. Be happy you don't have the feral pigs on yours or the surrounding property, but give it time, they will make an appearance.
I shot them every time I was in my deer blind last season, dropped 13. The nasty buggers kept the good deer off my feeders while they vacuumed up all the corn leaving me no choice but to ventilate them.
Got some good running shot practice so all wasn't bad.

He'll get off on self defense. He should get a medal of some sort.

I'll throw this out here just lighten it up a bit, a couple of weeks ago i walked into the store i work in part time and it was crowded and i walked back into sporting goods to get some ammo. I happened to have my back to the gun counter and as i was picking some ammo off the shelf all of a sudden the guy behind the counter very loudly racks a 12 gauge shotgun. Well we all know that sound, and even if you have never before heard it before you still know what it means.

The whole store went dead silent, not just the sporting goods department! I slowly turned around and looked at him and he was laughing his a$$ off and looking at me. He kept laughing until he saw the manager coming toward him with a not so funny look on his face. I picked up my ammo and left.

I looked as i left but didn't see any wet spots on the floor, but i bet it was close for some.
