Camp Perry US Nationals Cancelled

I’m broken hearted. Been going for 26 years. My first year at Perry I was 15 years old, shooting a M14. I tried convincing my wife to get married on the base chapel. My dying wish is to be scattered at CP. Many years my birthday were spent shooting the P100 and NTI. I spend my 40th birthday in a hut all by myself and couldn’t have been happier. Damn 2020 sucks

Very sad news, a summer without shooting the nationals at Camp Perry just sucks.
I support the CMP's decision, hopefully SOA in September!

This would have been my 9th pilgrimage to the National Pistol Matches at Camp Perry. Guess not this year.

I was hoping to be one of only 100 people to be there shooting in the President's Hundred match so I stood a chance of earning the tab. ;-)

Sad!!! 250 deaths/million word wide. Then you add in to the stats that our US hospitals have done by claiming a virus death but it really was a heart attack but we "hospitals" get money for virus deaths. This is bullshit. Way to buckle under to the libtards.

I don't care how high you make the total, that's still 250 DEAD people. It could be you, or someone you know. So who's the real tard, here? It's unfortunate that the Perry matches have been cancelled, but there will be other matches.

Jghoghunter, while I agree with the sentiment, I believe the delivery was a bit lacking. It's unfortunate that more and more things are getting cancelled, but I imagine the lawsuits, and the fact that the CMP has to have hard dates set for ranges, finances, lodging, volunteers, etc. conflicts with the Army saying that Nat. Sec. is a priority over some civilians dumping copper into Lake Erie.

If you want to beat people around about this, it should be taken elsewhere. However, you could check out the NY numbers and the fact that you have a .0687% chance of dying if you have no comorbidities, and compare them to the fact that 7,700 people die in the United States EVERY DAY. The mortality rate for this particular thing almost falls inside of normal mortality for any nation. How do we eliminate all risk so NO ONE dies, pray tell? (hint: you can't) You don't quarantine healthy people.

What about the 1968 flu? Did the U.S. lose it's mind over this? What about the fact that Birx said directly that if they don't know what the cause of death was, or if someone dies in a car accident and tested positive they count it as a Covid death? Nothing to see there.

Read anything that Denninger wrote at Market Ticker, the numbers don't lie. Like I said, start slinging insults? Take it elsewhere. There are other boards where you can have these arguments.

As for the National Matches, I'm bummed. Whiskey helps.

Never have been known for my tact. Thanks for the support. Whiskey has helped a lot.

They made the right decision...just protecting themselves from people like you that just don't get it !

There’s something very wrong with our response to Covid-19 if we are 4% of the world’s population - but 1/4 of all the deaths and 1/3 of all the cases.

I’m joining the suspicion that deaths are being tossed into this Covid category for financial reasons. Huge money is changing hands these last weeks in ways that would never be condoned in the absence of panic.

I further suspect, as a lawyer, that designating this cause of death when and if there is any question is perceived as helping the state and families in the future to “sue China” for money. (I’ll reserve my comments about what I think of that.)

As far as matches go, my range will resume monthly F-Class matches in May with or without the NRA’s sanctioning of tournaments. The NRA got a month of deference from us when it pulled April sanctioning. We will hold matches in compliance with distance and numerical limits, in successive sessions if need be.

Should the NRA desire clubs expressly state such interim matches aren’t NRA sanctioned, I will certainly make that clear, and perhaps even feel unbound (gladly) to their unreasonable rule against silencers on rifles.

Nice ,whiskey muscles...something to proud of !

Don't worry I more than understand. I just have this thing between my ears called a brain and it doesn't allow me to be a sheeple.
As far as the whiskey goes, a fine whiskey once and a while makes you sheeple go away.

I wish Bayou would do the same. I would take a later morning shoot time so I could drive and back in the same day.

Funny isn't it. Posters that go on about somebody flexing their internet muscles or their whiskey muscles for that matter, are just running their internet mouth.

Sorry to hear about the matches being canceled. Life goes on. I still show up to work everyday and do my best to make sure my guys can still make a paycheck albeit a lot smaller one for now. Life goes on. We will get past this and probably realize down the road that our response was an overreaction driven by our fear of death combined with a good dose of herd mentality. Life will go on.
