I'm listening to his App on my ear buds right now. Wife just told me the bad news.

I think that Rush is a VERY important man in our nation, and has probably done more good in his chosen career than anyone else in that field;-- and probably five times more good than any politician in our country in the last thirty years.

There are certainly folks who won't agree with me, but I'd bet that they haven't spent much time listening to him. He is almost unfailingly optimistic and logical about conservative beliefs, and can communicate that message in a way that is easy to understand and believe.

Prayers are definitely in order; both for his welfare, and for his future replacement. Even without lung cancer, he aint no spring chicken. jd

I've listened to Rush since about '89-90, and have often wondered who he would have as his protege' when he decided to retire. Now it appears that we may be finding out sooner rather than later, unless they decide to pull the plug on the program during his treatments or for worst a case scenario situation. He's had some great conservative speakers sit in over the years, I can't think of any one that shines above all others. They've most all been outstanding in their own right.

Walter Williams comes to mind as a fill in. Brilliant mind and the same conservative views, but with a deep knowledge of the constitution from a legal standpoint. God Bless and a full recovery and long life to Rush.

Butch thanks for starting this thread. Was considering doing the same thing myself, but didn't to be political. Listened to Rush since 89 and upon retirement listen almost daily. Countless hours at my loading bench with Rush explaining the world to me. Will pray for him and hope we have many more years of his wisdom.
