Otto Noise Barrier

I just wanted to comment on the Otto Noise Barrier hearing protection. After some discussion on another thread and recommendation by Norm Matzen, I bought a pair of them. These days I mostly shoot shotgun and need the ability to converse as well as have protection. My hearing is bad enough that hearing aids are a must for normal conversation not just a convenience. That being said, these Otto's are absolutely the best thing I have come across yet. I've had two pairs of ESP, 1 Sound Gear, and tried the Etymotic GSP15. I can't get a good seal with the ESP's and the other two just didn't give me what I needed. They either blocked the noise and communication suffered or the communication was good but didn't block enough noise. Also the GSP15 has such a small little button for changing the program, that it can't be done with gloves on. I have had a lot of trouble getting a seal on every in the canal instruments I have ever had. All I can say is thanks Norm!

Are these what you are referring to? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HZ3PNKX/?tag=accuratescom-20

that are the ones!

I don't know if the street price has been established yet. I would google OTTO Hearing Protection and see what you get. Or, other names like Otto noise suppressors, etc.

Thanks for what you do for us norm. Wish i had a set im sure theyre excellent.
They are pretty slick. The little box they come in is the charger. When you put the plugs back in the case they are on the charger. You can get up to 20 charges before you need to plug the usb cable into the box and recharge it. Overall a very nice setup. I wish they had another size larger ear tips. But I think some are available aftermarket

I have a set of memphis earbuds that have a case like that

I bought the Otto's last year from Botach Tactical and really like them. Current price is $329.98 with 40 In Stock. I searched for different Tips since my ear canals are small and found that Comply Sport Pro Premium Tips fit the Otto. The battery pack holds a charge for quite a while.

These sound great,

So you can hear better with them in, like a pair of hearing aids? I really need something bad and only want to buy once.

There are three settings. 1.Off 2. Automatically blocks loud reports with normal hearing 3. Amplified hearing that automatically blocks loud reports. When at the range I leave mine off and turn them on when i want to have a discussion, less distractions.

Comply has different sizes. Small, Medium and Large. Not sure if they make an Extra large. They are comfortable.

Yessir that is why I like these. I have spent a lot of money on hearing protection because of my hearing loss and so far these have worked the best for me. As I said earlier I NEED hearing aids to carry ob

Yessir. These guys work. I am able to have conversation and hear the shooter call for the bird while shooting sporting clays and they cut the noise better than my expensive ESP's. As I said before I NEED hearing aids for everyday conversation, so yes my hearing is BAD at best. So far these are the best thing I have come across. Nothing wrong with the ESP IF you can get a good fit and seal.

Thanks for the info. I'll check that out. I like the foam tips but they get dirty fast and don't seem to last. They are the best fit though.

You get three sets in a package with the Comply. Don't remember how much they cost. I wipe mine down with a damp cloth occasionally. They aren't an open cell foam like the gray ones they come with so gunk doesn't accumulate in the foam.

Google ETYMOTIC and click on consumer accessories. You can buy a bunch of different ear tips and foam tips in different sizes and they come in 8 pcs packages. Also check out the Blast protectors. they are identical to the OTTO but do not have re-chargeable batteries but are a little cheaper.

If you think the Blast Protectors look surprisingly like the OTTO, there is a good reason for that!!!

CAUTION! You still have to insert the ear-tip properly to make them safe!!!!All the way in!

There are several different Comply Sport Pro sizes. Would you happen to know which ones fit the Etymotic GSP15?
