Roy Hunter bullets/ testing

Okay 6mm shooters, here's another great option to stock next to your vapor trails and Barts. Somewhere back around February I started shooting Roy's 106 a little bit, and developed a good relationship with Ole Roy. 2 barrels later and a couple different tweaks(13 ish lol), I believe he now has about the most forgiving long range 6mm, and it will shoot small also. I'll post up just some of the highlights of the final draft of "Bullet A". Yes, "Bullet A" is very much not as cool of a name as the "BRA", but one testing day I wrote "a, b, and c" and it stuck!

Testing results posted all from my 880 yard spot on this post.

Out of space, will have more photos coming soon.

Couldn’t agree more Tom. Super high quality bullets that sort and shoot really well. I need to get some of the A bullets. I hear I’ve been shooting some 106’s that are harder to tune...

20190921_185128-768x1365.jpg This picture was taken about a week ago at the official "laboratory". Roy still gives me a hard time about shooting off a collapsible table, but if you hang your bucket of tire chains off it, it's not all that bad....just don't set your elbow down lol.

The picture below was taken on February 16th, my second day on the range with Roy's bullets. As we can see, the tire chains have gone full circle! Unfortunately, it's probably not to far off AGAIN.

I think some of these guys could load a rock and they could make it shoot. lol
I got to see alot of the testing done with the different bullets. We have known for a long time that some bullets just do not fly good to 1k. We have seen a lot that would set the world on fire at 600 but were un-tunable at 1k. Dont know why, but its true. There is no doubt that the success of this bullet is due to it being developed at long range. All of the samples Roy made, were well made, but small changes in the design made really big differences in accuracy and how forgiving the bullet was. Funny thing is, most all of them would shoot zeros at 100. It was a real eye opener to watch the development. These guys put a lot of time and work into this.

So how do they group in switching wind conditions ? With height heat ?

Very good in conditions for this class of 6mm. Like any other 6, if you hold the same and shoot a true reversal, they ain't going to the same spot. But the group in conditions, and don't blow up into grapefruit looking patterns when you get a little blow.

+6, +8, +10 jam?
Also did you notice anything interesting in the chrono numbers between a, b and c?
