I have been shooting my New, Tikka T3, L-H SS, Lite in .243 win.,. Love IT, what a "shooter" !
Bought it, instead of "building", a 6XC, 6 Creed or, 6 SLR on, my .22-250 Rem 700 action.
For the price of, a new Barrel/ chamber "job", I got a WHOLE, Rifle ! Yup, the old, antiquated, .243 Win. LOL !
I'm getting .2 -.3 th's, 3 shot groups and .5-6 th's, 5 shot groups out of, a Factory "stock" (except YoDave Trig Spring and Steel Recoil, Lug) Tikka Rifle !
The old, .243 Win cartridge, is still good, just a tad Ugly with, it's sloped shoulders and short Neck, LOL !! My plans are, to shoot this thing, "as is", for about 5-600 rounds then, send it to my Gunsmith, to set bbl back and re-chamber to 6mm SLR with, a short Throat for, the 70-90 grain Bullets that, seem to be best, for a 1-10 Twist barrel. Very Happy with my choice, of going with, the .243 Win !

Man! That's one fantastically accurate rifle and you're one really excellent shooter! Congratulations. Frame that target!

I love my .243 LRP, but it came with (I think) a McMillan stock and I wouldn't change that for the world. I know my LRP is very, very accurate, but I'd bet my bippy (if I had one) that I can't come close to taking full advantage of it.

Having said that, I have a .204 Savage FCV, and I did swap the original stock for a Choate. The barrel channel is way oversized (perhaps 3/16 in. too large for the barrel). I've gotten over the unsightlinss of that because of the rifle's accuracy and my faith that the air-gap will produce more even barrel cooling.

Again, I'm pea-green envious of your groups.

Love the 243...Man you guys can shoot!;):D I now have a load for 65 gr. v-max and 87 gr. v-max. One with Varget
and the other with good ol IMR4350. My groups aren't quite as good as all I've seen here but close...:D. I was thinking
of getting a 6mm creedmoor ... but sure glad I got the 243. :D I have visions of coyote's going down real soon...:p:D

Great shooting, congrads.

When it comes to the 243 you're singing to the choir with me. I currently have four, an old Rem 700, Tikka T3, Browning X Bolt and a Rem 7 (rebarreled with a 20" No. 3 contour Hart barrel).

The 243 is one of the best cartridges ever developed in my experience. It's a true dual purpose hunting cartridge. I've taken varmints, predators, and white tail deer with it. It has never let me down. My Tikka, Browning and Rem 7 (rebarrel) all shoot in the 1/2 moa range. The old Rem 700 has over 3.500 round though it and still groups about 3/4" after I recently used an aggressive Bore Tech Cu+2 cleaning process but that's another story.

Light recoil, easy to load, accurate, and excellent terminal performance - what's not to like! Some claim that it's hard on barrels. If you don't shoot it like Rambo in rapid fire heating the barrel so hot you can touch it, clean properly, and don't shoot maximum loads you can get adequate hunting accuracy of it for several thousand rounds.

My favorite all time do it all load for the 243 is the 85 gain Sierra BTHP behind IMR 4350 and Federal 210 primers. You can use this load for varmints, predators and even deer just keep the shots on deer behind the shoulder. It drops deer like a hammer. IMR 4064 also works well with this powder and bullet combo.

I got all caught up in the hype of these new cases and a member ackleyman on here talked me into a plain 243 and glad I did! I wanted a go to gun for muleys, antelope, and coyotes and so far I love it. No big game yet, but the 90gr gamechangers have just flattened these coyotes. Not a single step! Hoping to get an antelop this year

I love my 243, but my 10" twist will not stabilize the Gamechangers. Sub MOA at 100 yards won't hit the target backer at 200 yards.

Have you measured your twist? I asked sierra first before I bought them and aparently they should do fine in a 10tw. Mine is a 9.25 but measures closer to a 9.5

Yep. It's a 10" twist. I also called Sierra and asked before purchasing and they said the same to me.

@JaoeyP ,.. Your 1-10 twist, should, "shoot", the 80 Sierra Blitz's, 85, Game kings, 87 gr. V-Max, 80gr Bal Tip's, 90 gr Accubonds, 90 gr Bal tip's, 85 and 95 Partition's, 87 Berger HVLD's,.. PLENTY of "good ones" to choose from if, the Game Changer won't shoot. I had read that, they were "border line" unstable, in some, 1-10 tw Rifles.
