im wondering what other brand of scope would be equivalent to an NF shv (5x20) as far as quality and clarity. Thanks much.

The SHV's claim to fame is a Nightforce Scope at lower price point than other Nightforce scopes. If your two criteria for comparison are quality and clarity, there are hordes of equivalent or better scopes. Perhaps if you told us the intended use of the scope we could be of more help.

Ok I am looking for a hunting scope in the 5x20 power range . Thank You for the help.

Leupold 6.5-20x50 LRP. Best scope going for the money in my opinion. Way clearer than the Nightforce to my eyes and only half the weight.

Ok thanks
Depending upon the distance and size of the animal you are going to use the scope for, on the upper end, will a lower power suffice? I ask this because I have a hard to find NIB Leupold 2.5-10x45 VX-7 that I probably won't use.

I think I’d like a little higher power top magnification than your Leupold. I understand those VX-7s are pretty good? Thank you for the offer though.

Oh ok I will look through one. Is that any particular VX series. Thanks Much.

Made in US to that’s good.

One option is the Trijicon Accupoint 5-20x56, green dot, standard crosshair. I have two on hunting rifles.
The Sightron FFP, you need a pipe wrench to adjust the parallax. Other than that, I'd say it compares somewhat to the SHV.

I've been doing a lot of research for finding a similar style hunting scope as well.

I've made up my mind on the Delta Titanium ED 3-24x56. The scope is on the heavy side with the capped turret model (CCT) weighing in around 32 oz and the target turret model (OLT) about 36 oz, but it has all the features you could ever ask for.

1) Price point: around $1100 (Same price point as NF-SHV)
2) 34mm tube with 100 MOA of elevation
3) Excellent choice of SFP reticles with illuminated floating center dots.
4) Zero stop on elevation turret.
5) Made by LOW in Japan with top of the line Japanese ED glass. Same company that makes glass for NF and March scopes.
6) Perfect mag range versatility for hunting. 24X for taking long shots in open terrain or 3x for close shots in wooded areas.
7) Side parallax focus
8) Rear diopter focus and excellent eye relief with forgiving eyebox.
8) If I choose the target turret model, the turrets are also locking. Pull out to adjust, push back in to lock.

I have a Delta Stryker HD 5-50x56 scope on another rifle and am very happy with it. Excellent optical qualities and maintained a rock solid POA through all recoil testing I conducted with it. So I expect the 3-24x56 to be built with the same level of optical clarity and durability. Will be ordering the scope in a week or two.
