So I actually had my start with this cartridge and had strayed away from it a 6BRX and 6.5x47. But recently have been messing with it again. I noticed in some of Lapuas literature that the only cartridge in their catalog that got the moniker "extremely accurate" was the 7.62x53r.
Not even the 220 Russian once formed into 6PPC gets that moniker from Lapua! As a result I have been back to experimenting with it this time using a modern barrel.
A five shot group like this at 110y I just cant ignore. Perhaps I should try to find a modern action and BR quality scope. That was not the only one hole group I shot either.
This rifle is not a competition worthy gun as its over 20lbs. Main weakness is three fold. Scope, Stock (its to heavy at 8.5lbs) and the action. If I could build something to remedy all three? It has me thinking.
Some pics of my setup for you to enjoy.
